Penn and Nathan sat at a standstill, Penn unblinking and Nathan nervously shifting his eyes. Penn rested his folded hands on his lap, and his face remained stoic. Nathan opened and closed his mouth several times before clearing his throat.

"First, let me apologize," Nathan started.

"Okay," Penn replied, emotionless. "I'm waiting."

"Ah," Nathan flinched, not expecting the cold reply. "I'm…sorry…for leaving you alone like that. It was wrong. Honestly, I did have a valid reason, and I really tried not to leave you alone."

"Explain," Penn replied flatly, placing his elbow on the armrest and resting his head in his hand.

"Well," Nathan licked his lips, leaning forward as he shifted in his chair. "I had an emergency call to a dungeon. It's not an excuse! I can show you proof on my Hunter watch!"
