Landon stepped out of the car; his tall frame shadowed against the sleek car. He adjusted his coat with an effortless flick of his hands, she remembered too well.

Lucy's breath hitched, panic clawing at her chest.

Landon should still be in Virela City after visiting Auramont. She confirmed it with Mrs. Baker; he had been there.

If her guess was right, he should stay there for a bit longer to investigate her life there. This would then buy her a lot of time to finish up her plans. In addition, she made sure that they wouldn't meet so soon.

Her mind scrambled for answers, for reasons why he might have returned early. Was he into her plan? No, no one knows what she planned to do. She didn't even discuss everything with Vanessa.
