I slept with my arms securely around Freya, perfectly content and happy.

The moment that I had felt the mating bond snap into place had been the best feeling in the entire world. My wolf had finally found its other half and I had my mate in my arms. There was nothing that could separate us now and that was how I preferred it to stay.

The mental connection had been the biggest benefit of all. The bond now pulsated with a vivid gold light inside my head and I could see Freya’s energy intertwined with mine. Moreover, she was now a witch. She had yet to learn to control her powers, but that wasn’t an issue. She had her entire life to learn magic now and I was going to be there for her every step of the way.

Freya stirred in my arms, groaning as she wrapped her hands tightly around my shoulders. I thought she might be having a bad dream, but then she looked up at me groggily and gave me a smile that melted my heart.

“Morning.” I whispered, kissing the top of her head.
