Cameron and I watched Sarah enter the dining room hand in hand with Darcia the next morning. Her smile was radiant as she looked up at him and Darcia’s eyes sparkled as she looked down at her.

Seeing them together and this happy, it made my heart swell with joy as well. I felt Cameron’s hand on mine as he intertwined our fingers under the table and placed them on my lap. This time, I felt the same joy inside my veins as I had felt a second ago with Sarah.

As if understanding how I was feeling, Sarah turned to look at me, smiling gratefully as she came to sit on the chair beside me, while Darcia sat next to her. Alex raised an eyebrow at all of us, since he was now the only one sitting on the other side of the table. I wasn’t exactly sure, but I think I heard him mutter ‘fucking couples’ under his breath before he cleared his throat and gave us all a pointed look.

“So?” Darcia asked, looking around the table with raised eyebrows. “What’s with the sudden meeting?”
