Under Chiyo's command, the Puppet Brigade surged toward the camp's medical unit. Danzo, seething with anger, attempted to intercept them but was swiftly blocked by Chiyo's puppets.
"Heh, Danzo, I think you're better off staying here with this old lady," Chiyo taunted with a sly grin.
"Chiyo, I swear, the humiliation you've caused me today—I'll repay it a hundredfold!" Danzo growled. With the war against the Rain Village nearing its conclusion, and negotiations on the horizon, Danzo had been poised to be hailed as one of Konoha's heroes. But with Chiyo's sudden move, his ambitions were crumbling. Instead of being celebrated, he'd be ridiculed, his hopes of glory dashed. If the medical unit was completely wiped out, he might even face serious consequences.
"Well then, I'll be waiting for your revenge, Danzo, though I doubt you'll get the chance," Chiyo retorted, her eyes gleaming with malice. It was clear to anyone that Danzo's stability in the camp was largely thanks to the presence of Orochimaru and Tsunade. Without them, he would be overwhelmed. If the war had gone according to plan, Danzo would indeed have claimed significant credit. But now, with the camp breached and the medical unit in shambles, his position was all but lost.
If Danzo could still command operations in the Land of Rivers after this, Chiyo would be the first to admit she'd underestimated him. But the reality was, the Third Hokage would almost certainly remove him from command after such a failure.

Ignoring Danzo's furious, bloodthirsty gaze, Chiyo, satisfied with the devastation, immediately ordered a withdrawal. There was no point in dragging the fight out—while Konoha had taken significant losses, the Sand Village had also suffered. It was wiser to retreat now while Konoha's counterattack was still disorganized.

"Protect my sister!" Ebizō, seeing the danger, quickly moved to assist Chiyo, leading the Sand Village's ANBU into the fray. A chaotic melee erupted.
With Danzo's relentless pursuit, Chiyo found herself forced to continue fighting, despite her original intention to withdraw. The battle intensified, with Danzo fighting with a ferocity that surprised even Chiyo. His Wind Release techniques and ruthless swordsmanship tore through her puppets, giving her a hard time.
"Sister!" Ebizō, realizing the danger, joined the battle to support Chiyo, turning the tide against Danzo. What had been a duel was now a two-on-one fight, with Danzo struggling to keep up.
As the fight wore on, Danzo began to realize the gravity of his situation. He was surrounded, his Root ninjas engaged by Sand Village's ANBU, leaving him isolated against Chiyo and Ebizō. His mind raced as he surveyed the battlefield, recognizing the danger of his position.

Realizing he was now deep within enemy lines, surrounded by Sand Village's elite, Danzo's heart sank. The pressure was mounting as the Sand forces closed in, eager to finish him off.

But the cost was high—one of his eyes had been pierced by a poisoned needle, the black, foul-smelling blood oozing down his face. His arm was slashed open, barely hanging on after nearly being severed by Chiyo's puppets.

As Danzo escaped their grasp, Chiyo knew that killing him now would be nearly impossible.
"Retreat!"
With a swift motion, Chiyo ordered her forces to withdraw. There was no point in continuing the fight. The mission had been a resounding success, and the Sand Village could now sit back and reap the rewards. There was no need for greed.
Danzo's reckless charge into the enemy's trap had nearly cost him his life. If they could have killed him, it would have been a great victory. But with Danzo slipping away, Chiyo knew it was time to pull back.
"Danzo-sama!"
The Root ninjas finally reached Danzo, their faces pale as they saw the extent of his injuries.
"Medical ninjas, quickly, treat Danzo-sama's wounds!"
Danzo's severe injuries sent shockwaves through Konoha's ranks, disrupting their formation and causing widespread panic. The Konoha ninjas immediately formed a protective circle around their wounded leader, abandoning any thoughts of pursuit.
But as they turned to their medics, they realized with horror that the Sand Village's attack had nearly wiped out the camp's medical unit. The few remaining medics were barely qualified, more suited to bandaging wounds than treating serious injuries. Danzo's condition was critical, and time was running out.
"Send a message to the front lines immediately! The Sand Village has attacked the camp, and Danzo-sama is severely injured!"
The Sand Village's plan had succeeded. Danzo's blind rage and overzealous pursuit had led him straight into their trap, leaving him critically wounded.
On the front lines, Jiraiya lay sprawled on the ground, letting the rain pour over him. He was utterly spent, unable to move even a finger.
Whatever happens now, let it happen, he thought, resigned to his fate. He was too exhausted to care.
Not far away, Orochimaru clutched his shoulder, panting heavily as he glared at Hanzō, who stood atop his salamander, unyielding and formidable.
Their eyes were filled with frustration. Tsunade wasn't faring much better, her chakra and strength nearly depleted.
The three of them had been battling Hanzō non-stop since the conflict began, but in the end, they were no match for the legendary leader of the Rain Village.
