章節 36: Chapter 36: A Sudden Turn of Events and Another Record Broken

Liam wasn't aware of the evaluators' comments on his performance, nor did he have the time to consider what others thought of him. The giant sand creature's gaping maw was right behind him, ready to swallow him whole. With a burst of icy energy, Liam's entire body was covered in sharp ice spikes, turning him into a spiky porcupine.

The sudden eruption of ice spikes shattered the sand hand that had been holding him captive. With a thought, Liam erected a distant ice pillar and lashed his energy chain around it. With a powerful tug, he yanked himself out of the creature's attack range, landing on top of the ice pillar.

Now that he had a moment to breathe, Liam finally turned to fully assess the monster he was facing. The sand on the ground twisted and churned as a massive sand giant reformed, this time even larger than before.

A deafening roar echoed, stirring up a violent sandstorm. The fierce wind and sand forced Liam to squint, barely able to keep his eyes open.

"Is this thing immortal?" Liam wondered as he surveyed the surrounding desert, trying to make sense of the situation.

He deduced that the creature likely didn't have a physical body but could control the sand within a certain range to form itself. However, the entire desert seemed to be writhing and surging, and the sky was now so thick with sand that visibility was almost nonexistent.

Within seconds, the world around him had darkened to the point where Liam could only make out the vague silhouette of the giant, unable to see its full form.

"This is insane! Are all the creatures in here at this level? Who's hunting whom? The 'Hunting Action' might as well be about hunting us students!" Liam thought, realizing that if this was the standard of the creatures in the secret realm, then most of the other students were in serious trouble.

As he mused, Liam instinctively tilted his head to the side, narrowly avoiding several sand spikes that whizzed past, just grazing his hair. It looked dangerously close, but Liam remained calm, knowing that the danger wasn't as severe as it seemed.

Despite the blinding sand and the sharp pain from the grains cutting into his face, Liam was able to evade each attack effortlessly, thanks to the Voices of All Things constantly alerting him to his surroundings.

Unbeknownst to him, the battle with the divine servants had rapidly honed his combat experience, allowing him to handle this situation with remarkable ease. His mastery of the Voices of All Things had grown to the point where he could remain composed under pressure, avoiding the panic that might have gripped him before.

[Large Sand Grain: I told you to aim for the weak spot, but you didn't listen. Do you really think you can take this thing on head-to-head?]

As the voice echoed in his mind, Liam kept dodging attacks while muttering to himself, "You keep telling me to hit the weak spot, but where the hell is it? Help me out here!"

"Damn, I can't see a thing anymore!"

The sandstorm had become so intense that it enveloped everything like a shroud. The giant sand creature was now nothing more than a vague shadow.

Outside the secret realm, Cain, who had been observing the battle, nodded approvingly. "He's doing well, staying calm under pressure," Cain praised. "But the creatures in the secret realm vary in strength, and this one happens to be quite powerful."

"This kid's got some kind of sixth sense. It's impressive. Even though he's on the defensive, he's maintaining his composure," Zhong Jing commented with a laugh, admiring Liam's nimble dodging. "No way he's just relying on reflexes. This has to be some kind of perception ability."

"The way he fights is remarkably calm, like he's not new to this. What was he up to before coming here? Brawling every day?" the evaluators speculated, watching Liam's struggle and wondering how he would overcome this challenge.

Dong Wushuang suddenly leaned in closer to the screen, noticing something intriguing. "Wait a minute... Did he just close his eyes? Is he planning to fight purely by sensing his surroundings?"

Indeed, Liam had shut his eyes, deciding to rely solely on the Voices of All Things for this fight. The sandstorm was too intense to see anything clearly, and he had already formulated his next move.

With a slight upward motion of his right hand, dozens of towering ice pillars erupted from the ground, each nearly 40 meters tall. Then, using his energy chains, Liam leaped from pillar to pillar, maneuvering through the battlefield like a spider in its web.

The sand giant, despite its immense power, couldn't land a hit on Liam, who was now darting through the air, using the ice pillars as anchors.

Ice swords materialized in the air, piercing the giant's massive body repeatedly. A specific spot on its left chest shuddered violently every time it was struck—that was its weak point.

In an instant, the tide of battle had turned.

The sand giant, which had been overwhelming Liam just moments ago, was now flailing helplessly, roaring in frustration as it failed to land a single blow on its agile opponent. The creature was clearly on the verge of collapse.

"No way! He actually found the creature's weak spot?"

"Are these things really that easy to handle?"

"Did he figure it out by spamming ice swords? Or is this something he can do in real life too...?"

The evaluators were once again stunned by Liam's performance. Zhong Jing had already lost count of how many times he had cursed in astonishment.

He was now seriously contemplating what kind of incentives he could offer to lure Liam to Western Academy.

While the others were shocked, Cain simply checked his watch, noting the time. He clicked his tongue and took a sharp breath.

At this rate, if Liam managed to take down the creature alone, it might just be another record broken.
