章節 111: Not A New Chapter: Thinking About Translating A New Fanfic
Hey everyone!
I'm thinking of starting a new translation project, and don't worry, I'm not dropping my current one! For those who know, I've already translated over a hundred chapters ahead for my current fanfic, so that's staying on track.
Here's what I'm considering for my next project—also from the Classroom of the Elite (COTE) universe:
COTE: Oreki Houtarou's Strength-Supreme Classroom.
There's already someone translating this, but I've noticed their updates are slow, and the quality could be better. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I also think this fanfic deserves a better translation. I've been torn because I don't want to undermine the current translator, but I enjoy this fic and would love to translate it from the start.
COTE: Hikigaya Hachiman in the Classroom of the Elite.
This one's also great! Hikigaya here is very true to his original character—not overpowered, just a logical mastermind who's a bit of a pushover. Another translator started this one but dropped it because of a controversial scene where Hikigaya is assaulted(r@ped) by Kamuro. While that part turned a lot of people off (including the original translator), I've read up to 500 chapters and found the story fun in its way. I'm interested in translating it from scratch since the existing translation isn't top-notch.
Your Choice (Any fic you suggest).
I'm open to suggestions! If you've come across any MTL that you think would be awesome with a proper translation, let me know!
Note: Whatever you guys choose, I won't be posting the new fic until the end of next month. And if there's no strong preference, I might hold off on starting a new project for now.
