Elian stirred awake, his senses slowly coming to life as he felt the weight of a gaze on him. Opening his eyes, he was met with Izan's face, mere inches away, looking down at him with a contented smile that bordered on amusement.

A warm flush crept up Elian's cheeks. "What are you staring at?"

Izan's smile deepened, his fingers brushing a stray strand of hair from Elian's forehead. "You, of course."

A burst of sudden self-consciousness flared up, and Elian responded the only way he could think of – he snatched the nearest pillow and tossed it at Izan's head. "Stop looking at me like that!"

The pillow connected, catching Izan off guard for a split second. Then, with a mischievous gleam in his eye, Izan grabbed a pillow of his own and lobbed it back at Elian. "You're going to regret that."
