"The devil? That sounds interesting..."

Alexis was shocked when he heard a feminine voice sound from behind him. He made a sharp turn around and saw Alicia standing in the doorway with her brows raised.

"The devil. Who's the devil?" Alicia asked with a smile on her face.

"Given the context, you probably already know," Alexis said while awkwardly rubbing his nose. Even though he could be considered socially awkward, he knew when he said something rude. "I'm sorry," he added after a few seconds of silence.

"It's fine," Alicia waved her hands. "I was just teasing you."

"Oh..." Alexis forced a small smile on his face while rubbing his nose awkwardly. He had landed in a very awkward situation and didn't have a clue what to say.

"So, let's work on the project," Alicia said. She walked past Alexis, sat down, and dragged a chair towards one of the tables filled with books. She set the chair in a comfortable position and slumped into it.
