"Where's Alexander?" Kae asked, raising an eyebrow. His question seemed to surprise Anna, who got up from all fours, slipped on her robe, and stood to face him.

"She's downstairs having breakfast," Anna replied, her tone sharp. "If you miss her that much, you can go meet her yourself." She turned to leave, but before she could take a step, Kae moved with startling speed. In a blink, he was off the bed and had grabbed Anna by the waist.

His swiftness left Anna momentarily stunned. "I was intimate with her, Anna," Kae began, his tone serious, his grip firm yet non-threatening. "And I have to take responsibility for it. Besides, I have my reasons for keeping her by my side."
