"Alright forget it... I'll just do as they said. I'll drop a coin. What a shame that such beautiful looking ancient relic was supposed to be disposed. Remind me of that one time a friend of mine used a rare dime to buy a cheap street food. Anyway, here we go!"
PLOP!
The coin was sucked into the singularity sphere. But nothing has happened.
"What! No way... this can't be happening. There is nothing happening. Did those bastards lied to me? I swear when I get to them I'll... oh, what am I even saying?.. I 'll never get to them. While they were possibly right now having fun with their timeline, I'm just alone here slowling being pulled toward my death. There is no hope. All I can do is to rethink my own past happy memories."
Speaking of memories, he then remember something the general has said about significance of the coin.
"The black hole is specifically designed to bring benefit no matter the consequence after all. The coin is more of a decoration."
"The coin is not that important according to him. Maybe the timeline hasn't changed yet. So what if I throw other things at the sphere.
Would they work in my favor too?"
Christoph reached for his bag on his back. He unzipped it and find for the things he wouldn't think of as important to him. He found none. None that would feel important to him. In the past, he had hundreds of adventures across the world. There is no place on earth he hadn't been to. There is no type of water he hadn't drink.
"In those days, why did I travel that far into the unknowns. What is the purpose of my quests. Why did I torture my legs everydays for walk. "
Christoph shook his head to forget what he's thinking and tried to focus on the furrent situation. The first thing he pulled out of the bag was an egg... A snake egg.
"This egg was the last thing that was left after the mother cobra sacrificed itself from the hunters it was trying to defend its eggs from."
The egg was thrown into the singularity. Immediately after it, the dimension itself starts to shake and tremble.
"I think it's working...kinda... I'm still here tho..."
He then pulled out second one to drop...A whip.
"I thought this look really beautiful when I saw it in their museum so I stole it... except it's not as good looking as I thought. Here we go!"
The dimension shakes and trembles once again...
Christoph pulled out the third... A candle.
"There is something written in the candle, but it's too small... so who cares..."
He dropped the candle into the sphere of singularity.
The dimension shakes and trembles...
He then pulled out the fourth... A piece of bread.
"What with this half bitten bread doing here... ew... wait, isn't this from that guy who bought cheap meal with valuable dime? Get out of here!"
The dimension shakes and trembles...
He pulled out the fifth... An amulet.
"Ah yess... this amulet... back in th day people were obsess with this thing saying this give them power. But turns out, it's all nothing but a waste of bidding money. Eventually, they sold this with cheapest price possible to me in desperation."
He threw it into the sphere once again.
The dimension shakes and trembles...
Christoph pulled out the sixth... A laughing gas bottle.
"Uhh... heh heh... why do I even... heh heh... Whatever... heh heh heh!"
The dimension shakes and trembles...
He pulled out the seventh... An umbrella.
"With all the exotic things in my bag, this normal umberella is ironically standing out."
Along with the umberella, he threw the whole bag into the singularity.
The dimension shakes and trembles...
"Well... nothing seem to be working. The only thing that is left to throw are the pitch black goos in my body from all the monster chopping."
He threw the goos into the sphere of singularity.
The dimension shakes and trembles...
"Now, guess I'm the only one left huh... What was I thinking a few minutes ago... Ah yes, my purpose for my whole career. Why did I choose this path? In my early life, I met a man who came to my town asking me for companion with payment. But then, he didn't take me with him as he found a more suitable partner better than me. Was that the start of my interest?
One time, my younger brother got sick when we were on middle of hiking trip with my friend. The problem was we were in somewhere isolated on mountain. So I left my brother with my friend to take care of him while I was running to call for help. On my way, I had encountered never seen before beautiful nature and scenery so majestic that I almost forgot my objective.
Or is it the time when I joined a group of bandits because I had nothing to eat at the era of famine. Trying to rob and steal out of rich people while evading authorities was quite a thrill ride that I cannot forget. Of course I also had to run from the same bandits when I wanted to quit. Could this be the main motivation for my endless journeys.
I don't know anymore... I came into this world to mostly have fun with nothing I want to gain. Maybe this is it... maybe this is how my life will end. I will be finally getting executed after all adventures I had done. If this is how it ends, I might as well just accept it."
As he slowly descended into the sphere, one thought came into his mind.
"Or...this could just be a portal to another more exciting explorations. I wonder what's there on the other side."
