"Haha. Interesting is a nice way to describe it. But I like it here. I mean, there are places I could visit, but I also like here. It's like taking a break from ages of hard work," Fred said as he felt Hippolyta's warmth on his chest as his heart began to betray him.
'At least it's not that part of my body that is misbehaving now,' Fred thought as he took another cup of wine.
"I better leave before I do something I won't regret," Hippolyta said with a smile as she stood up and took her leave.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" Fred teased.
.
"The girls have already started the celebration. Care to join?" Hippolyta asked.
"I will just turn in for the night," Fred declined politely.
Fred didn't need sleep, but he hadn't had the time to be alone for some time. As he saw lights and ceremonial fire down below, the Amazons were swift in arranging a feast. Huge tunas were being prepared over a large fire, soups were being cooked, and Hera blessed everything, making the food somewhat heavenly to behold and eat.
Fred took in the night sky as he remembered his days working an IT job. Some nights he would go to the rooftop just to get away from the noise, the hustle, line errors, bug testing… life. He had gotten powers he had read in fiction and more, but he still appreciated his alone time.
'That man is clearly not mortal!' Hippolyta thought to herself after confirming another test of hers.
'But he is also dashingly handsome… Oh, I mustn't! If I say her name in thought, she would be able to know what I was thinking, and I don't want to answer that question,' Hippolyta thought as she made her way to the ongoing celebrations.
Soon enough, the gods parted after a few hours and promised to return soon, much to the surprise of the Amazons.
"Diana, don't you have something to say to the person that aided us in battle?" Hippolyta asked.
"Is that how you address me?" Diana asked as she approached her mother.
Diana chuckled and hugged her mother. "I know I am on my way."
"He is in the guest house overlooking the island," Hippolyta said.
"Really? Does he deserve it?" Diana asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I would slap you now if we weren't in front of our people now, but you owe him. We owe him this much. Do you know how many of us we lost before he came? We are down to a thousand! If he hadn't come… I don't even want to think of it," Hippolyta said as she remembered the fallen elite guards she handpicked and left for her quarters.
Flying to the guest house her mother mentioned, Diana landed on the balcony and knocked at the door.
"It's me! Diana!"
"Enter."
Earlier, Fred had taken off his shirt and trousers except for his boxers, an old habit of his, as he dived into the bed allocated to him. A floral fragrance greeted him as he chuckled to himself.
"It's definitely an Amazonian island," Fred said, taking another cup of wine.
"It's sweet, doesn't this have a little alcohol?"
Fred had fought valiantly against the demon horde, saving the Amazons, yet found himself alone and uncelebrated. His power and the destruction he caused were too great for them to ignore. His brown skin glistened with a sheen of some of the wine he still drank, his lean, muscular frame a testament to his strength and endurance.
Princess Diana, the crown princess of the Amazons, and the newly established god of war walked inside the guest house, her eyes fixed on him. She had been watching him fight, her initial fear gradually transforming into something else. She couldn't deny the attraction she felt, the strange mix of lust and curiosity that bubbled within her whenever she saw him make quick work of demons and Asteroth. His presence was overwhelming, his body a perfect blend of power and grace.
Fred noticed her gaze and stopped drinking the wine that tasted sweet, his dark eyes meeting hers with an intensity that made her heart race. He was six foot three, towering over her with ease, his physique sculpted and commanding. She felt a flush rise to her cheeks as she allowed her eyes to drift lower, taking in every detail of him.
"Princess," he said, his voice deep and resonant, pulling her from her thoughts.
"What brings you here?"
Diana swallowed hard, her breath catching in her throat. "I wanted to speak with you," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "To thank you for saving us."
Fred's lips curved into a slow, knowing smile. "Is that all, Princess?"
She shook her head, stepping closer to the bed he sat on. "No," she admitted, her voice barely a whisper. "I want to know more about you."
He reached for her, his fingers brushing against her cheek. The touch was electric, sending shivers down her spine. "Then come closer," he said, his tone inviting, almost challenging.
Diana hesitated for a moment before unlocking the cell door and stepping inside. She had never been this close to him before, and the proximity made her head spin. Fred's gaze was unwavering, his golden eyes filled with an intensity that made her knees weak.
"You intrigue me, Slayer," she confessed, her voice shaking.
"I don't understand why."
Fred stepped closer, his body heat enveloping her. "Perhaps you should stop trying to understand and just feel," he suggested, his voice a low growl.
Before she could respond, his lips were on hers, the kiss fierce and demanding. Diana's hands flew to his chest, feeling the hard muscles beneath his skin. She moaned softly, her body responding to his touch in ways she had never experienced before.
'I can feel this!' Fred thought happily in his head as he pulled Diana closer.
Fred pulled back slightly, his eyes locking onto hers. "Do you want this, Diana?" he asked, his voice husky with desire.
"Yes," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I want you."
