I feel like I was dying after receiving twelve floggings in my back. I'm glad I can still stand even if my body feels numb as if I'm going to pass out.

Shanguan Wei bows his head. "Forgive my family's rudeness, your highness. I will receive the punishment for their actions," Father-in-law says, bowing his head to show he's deeply sorry.

"Raise your head, father-in-law," I command. He did as I said.

"I'm keeping him for the rest of my life. You have no choice but to see me as your daughter-in-law. I have no time to punish everyone. I will be taking my husband home. Xu Jiaxu, prepare the carriage. We'll head back to the palace," I command.

He let go of him. I wrap my hand around his waist. I groan. I'm already at my limit.

"Let's go home and treat your wounds," I remark.
