As August filled out the paperwork, the cashier hovered nervously, checking his progress. Her earlier indifference had vanished, replaced by a palpable eagerness to assist him.

Once the forms were completed, she smiled brightly. "Thank you, Mr. Clementine. The transactions will be processed immediately, and your debts will be cleared. Would you like to receive confirmation emails?"

"Sure," August replied curtly.

"Is there anything else I can assist you with?" Her voice suddenly sounded sweet as she asked.

"I'd like to withdraw $30,000 in cash," August said, slipping his ID across the counter.

"Of course! Right away, sir."

She hurried to the back room to retrieve the money. When she returned, she handed him a neatly bound stack of bills.
