Trixie watched Lilian bite her lower lips as she leaned back against the balcony railing and sighed.

"I know it might be hard to believe that I know your brother personally, but it's the truth."

Trixie nodded, swallowing nervously as the tension between them thickened. Lilian glanced at the woman's expression from the corner of her eye before fully turning to face her.

"I knew Lucas when I was an intern at the Lin Group. He was smart and well-liked by everybody—especially the men, which I never knew had a different meaning than being friendly. I had never guessed that it was because he is gay."

Trixie managed a small, awkward smile, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she lowered her gaze.

She tried hiding herself from the humiliation that she felt towards her brother and would like to apologize to Lilian.
