"Lyn!"

Griselda's voice was heard, meeting Kael and Jacquelyn before they even reached the gate. Her disheveled hair and the shawl slipping from her shoulder showed she hadn't had an easy day herself. Especially after she had returned and found the castle empty. At first she had assumed that the children had gone to the circus, but her bond with Jacquelyn told her otherwise. Her Lyn was in danger, and it worried Griselda more because she had no idea where Jacquelyn was.

"What happened....aiyah!" Griselda exclaimed, hitting her knees as she hurried around Kael to see Jacquelyn's face. "My little firefly," the woman murmured, her hands trembling as she reached up to touch Jacquelyn's cheek.

Kael didn't stop her, understanding well the bond the Elyse had with their children. He allowed Griselda to tend to Jacquelyn, sensing how deeply the woman worried for her.
