Pierce came back with a cake. I smiled when he prepared it and gave me a piece on the plate. He was staring at my face again and since he’s been doing that all this time, I didn't confront him about it.

“Kelly…”

“Hmm?” I drank the water he gave me.

“I saw Klay Carver.”

My chew slowed down until it completely stopped. I lifted my face and looked at him worriedly.

“Are you okay? Did he say or do something?”

He shook his head and extended his arm, giving me a flash drive. “He wants me to give this to you.”

My forehead creased as I dropped my gaze to the small and black rectangular thing on his palm.

“What’s that?”

He shrugged his shoulders and gently put it in my hand. “I’ll ask my assistant to bring my laptop or ipad here.”

I nodded and looked at the flash drive in my hand before I looked into his eyes again. “Did he say something bad? Did he…”

He held my hand, stopping me. He smiled and caressed my cheek with his other hand.
