"What is it that you need of me?" I asked, not addressing the Rein by his proper title. I saw a tick beating frantically in the male's jaw as he stared down at me through the bars of my cage. 

I needed to create a delicate balance between pissing him off and being submissive enough that he didn't think I was intentionally trying to piss him off.

It was all a dance, and one that I was willing to perform as many times as I needed to until there were no more threats. 

"You think I need something from you?" sneered the Rein, gripping the bars as tightly as he could. I could hear the metal groaning as it tried its best to withstand the pressure.

'Gabriel?' I grunted, not trusting my prison to keep the bad guy out at all. 

'Shields at 100%,' replied my AI in my head. 'Weapons system up and running. All you need to do is think of what you want, even if it is just an idea, and it's yours.'
