Surprised at Vi'dta's attitude toward someone who was willing to give his life for him, I looked up at Ba'dqeel.

When he didn't seem to be too concerned, I simply shrugged my shoulders. If no one else was going to care about the lone male demon left on Earth, then I wasn't going to either. I just hoped that he could live a life without imprisonment. I didn't wish that on another living being.

With a nod of Ba'dqeel's head, Tu'sub launched the runner into the air.

I was pressed further back into Ba'dqeel's arms, but I wasn't worried. I had never felt more safe and protected than I did in his arms… in any of my mate's arms.

I was leaving my old world behind me. All the pain and suffering I had experienced there was cleansed from my system. I looked out a sliver of the cockpit window when it banked to the right. I saw the white walls under us as smoke rose from the buildings inside.
