70.39% I Am Honkai / Chapter 214: Danger! Tyrant, a Grave Threat!

章節 214: Danger! Tyrant, a Grave Threat!

"The super danger creature—Tyrant was one of the specific materials selected by the First Emperor for the creation of Teigu…"

Dr. Stylish paused his animated explanation and quickly rummaged through the messy drawers of his desk, finally pulling out a stack of old, coverless 'books.'

He then deftly extracted a few well-worn pages from within and handed them to Selene one by one. "General, these are what I found in the archives of the Imperial Science Bureau's headquarters in the capital."

"Though the information recorded here about the Imperial Arms is incomplete, it's better than nothing. It includes detailed usage instructions and the materials involved, including the details about the cursed Teigu, [Demon Armor: Incursio]."

[Demon Armor: Incursio] was an Teigu made from the dragon-type danger creature, Tyrant. When summoned, the indestructible armor automatically materialized, enhancing the wearer's abilities.

It boasted impenetrable defense and came with a supplementary weapon, the "Neuntote".

Its hidden ability was to activate the biological traits of the material used to create it, granting temporary invisibility. If the user mastered the armor, they could also conceal their presence entirely.

Due to the nature of its material, this Teigu had the ability to evolve continuously. Whether in the extreme cold of the far north or the scorching heat of the far west… no matter the harsh conditions, it quickly adapted.

Remarkably, even after a thousand years, the cells of Tyrant used in the Teigu remained alive!

As Selene quickly flipped through the documents handed to her by Dr. Stylish, her eyes narrowed slightly. Tyrant's unique traits were exactly what the Honkai Energy Stabilization Soldier Enhancement Project needed—an ideal experimental material.

"Dr. Stylish, how far along is your experiment?" Selene asked, still reading.

"I've made some progress, but… I've run out of materials. The Imperial Science Bureau's stockpile of super danger creatures is very limited, and even more so for dragon-type creatures like Tyrant. After a few experiments, all the materials were depleted."

"And these were the result of centuries of accumulation…"

Hearing this, Selene continued skimming through Dr. Stylish's experimental notes.

Experiment 401: Using super danger creature Tyrant as the material for a danger creature-modified human.

Fortunately, this time Subject 401 did not undergo any sudden mutations. The body remained human-shaped until death, though the height increased to nearly 5 meters. However, that wasn't a major issue. As long as the shape remained humanoid, it meant the approach was correct.

Continue using Tyrant's material for the experiments!

...

Experiment 404: Ah, I was too impulsive this time and used all the remaining Tyrant materials on Subject 404. Sigh! What was I thinking? However, the results were not small.

Although the subject still died and showed signs of partial dragon transformation, this time, the body's height stabilized at around 3 meters—perfectly muscular… Ah, how beautiful!

During disposal, I unexpectedly dissected a cluster of Tyrant cells from the subject's chest cavity. These cells had absorbed some Honkai energy and were evolving and adapting?!

I have a hunch—this could be the breakthrough for the Honkai Energy Stabilization Soldier Enhancement Project!

But alas, all the Tyrant materials are gone… Damn! The Stylish Squad's strength is still too weak! They have no capability to capture super danger creatures!

It looks like… I'll need to request help from the General…

...

At this point, Selene couldn't help but chuckle at the ironic "404" designation. She looked up and directly asked, "What about the adaptive cells you extracted from Subject 404?"

"Oh, oh! They're right here…" Dr. Stylish eagerly pulled a small vial of fluorescent green nutrient solution from the pocket of his lab coat and respectfully handed it over.

"You… carry it around with you?"

"Of course! To monitor its changes at any time."

Selene's eye twitched slightly as she marveled at the fanaticism of scientists like Dr. Stylish. Despite his perverse nature, he truly embodied the spirit of curiosity and risk-taking that defined a dedicated scientist.

She carefully inspected the small, blackish-purple lump of flesh soaking in the nutrient solution before asking, "Once we secure more Tyrant material, what's your next step?"

"General, according to my plan, Tyrant's adaptive ability can be surgically transplanted into a human body."

"Then, under my surgical modifications, once the experimental subject stabilizes and acquires Tyrant's adaptability, I believe they will be able to endure Honkai energy enhancements with continued adjustments."

"And even if the subject fails, we can dissect them, analyze the interactions between Tyrant material, the human body, and Honkai energy... After a transformation, we can transplant those cells into a new experimental subject."

Pointing to the vial in Selene's hand, Dr. Stylish confidently added, "By continuing the experiments, I'm sure we'll eventually succeed."

Selene nodded approvingly, saying, "A genius idea... So, what kind of support do you need?"

"After reviewing my experiment notes, I'm sure the General understands that all the Tyrant material has been used up."

Dr. Stylish continued, "To push the experiments further, I'll need more Tyrant material. Ideally, we should capture one alive, but… as the General knows, super danger creatures are incredibly dangerous…"

He gave a sheepish grin. "Although I don't wish to trouble you, General, my Stylish Squad simply doesn't have the ability to capture such creatures."

"I understand. I'll handle the matter of Tyrant."

Nodding, Selene turned and commanded, "Sebas and Alyssa, pause your current work. Take the [World Chronicle] and search beyond the borders for traces of Tyrant or other super danger creatures. If you find one, capture it—alive, if possible."

"Leiva, go notify the legion and Hak Foo. Prepare for war against the northern barbarians! Since we've decided to cross the border, let's be decisive. Move up the war plans and settle this once and for all!"

Most of the surviving super danger creatures lived beyond the Great Northern Wall. Originally, at Esdeath's request, Selene had planned to leave the northern barbarians for Esdeath to deal with...

But now, there was no time to wait. Her plans were more important.

"Oh, and notify Esdeath as well. Tell her to hurry up and deal with the invasion from the Western Kingdoms. If she wants revenge, she better act quickly. I'm going to war with the northern barbarians."

"Yes, General!"

...

Meanwhile, in the southern province of the Empire, at Najenda's army camp.

Ever since being diverted from Esdeath's army by Honest's orders, Najenda had been leading her troops in a slow, lackluster campaign against bandits in the southern province.

So far, she had only wiped out two or three mountain bandit camps. Progress was sluggish, and the efficiency was low. Yet, she constantly demanded food and supplies from the local officials.

If Najenda hadn't been promoted by Honest himself, she would have already faced impeachment.

Despite the potential backlash, Najenda continued to fortify her camps, train her troops, and stockpile resources, leaving the Empire wondering what her true intentions were.

"So, you're saying the entire Oarburgh Assassination Team was wiped out in the White Wolf River region?"
