章節 59: Chapter 58: Tatsuya's Plan

The departure of Emiya Kiritsugu and Saber did not mark the end of the briefing session proposed by Tatsuya Suzuki.

Rather than dwelling on the fact that the magus killer, who seemed to have buried his emotions, left in anger, those who remained were more concerned about the Holy Grail War itself.

Through Morgan's magic, everyone saw something strange about the Holy Grail. If anyone still had doubts, the only option left was to confirm it themselves, just as Morgan had suggested. However, everyone knew that doing so wouldn't change the outcome.

"...I will personally go to Mount Enzo to confirm that the Greater Holy Grail has been contaminated," Tokiomi said, watching Morgan close the image of the Holy Grail that she had shown through her magic. His heart was in turmoil, but as the head of the Tohsaka family, his sense of responsibility compelled him not to ignore the issue. He chose to respond in a way that was relatively reasonable.

Uphold elegance.

Tokiomi, who never forgot the family motto of the Tohsaka family, remained as calm as ever, though his furrowed brows betrayed the mixed feelings swirling within him.

"But, Tatsuya-kun, you gathered everyone today to explain this matter. Surely it wasn't just to make the facts public. Could you please elaborate further?"

Tokiomi asked Tatsuya, who nodded in response. Morgan, meanwhile, walked over to an empty bench nearby and sat down, as if her work was done.

"My purpose is simple. Now that we know the Greater Holy Grail is contaminated, continuing the Holy Grail War would do more harm than good," Tatsuya said, standing in the middle of the aisle and looking directly at Tokiomi. "So, I propose that we stop the Holy Grail War and instead pool our resources to purify the Greater Holy Grail."

This was also the "mission" that Tatsuya's goals had evolved into.

"That's a very reasonable opinion," Tokiomi nodded deeply.

Although reaching the "Root" was the Tohsaka family's long-cherished wish, Tokiomi couldn't accurately judge the price Fuyuki would pay if they opened the path to the Root using the contaminated Holy Grail. Therefore, Tatsuya's proposal seemed like the correct course of action.

"Given the current situation, in order to purify the Holy Grail, we need to extract the contaminated magical energy within it," Tatsuya continued. "According to our predictions, even if the purification is successful, much of the magical energy accumulated over the past sixty years will be lost—"

He paused and looked over at Waver.

As one of the three Masters present, Waver's abilities as a Master might not have been on par with those of Tatsuya and Tokiomi, but that didn't mean he should be excluded.

Waver understood what Tatsuya's gaze meant.

The loss of the Holy Grail's stored magical energy during purification meant that even if a victor were ultimately decided, the Holy Grail wouldn't function as a wish-granting device with only the magical energy converted from the Servants' souls. In other words, agreeing to purify the Greater Holy Grail would effectively mean ending the Holy Grail War here and now.

"It's fine by me..." Waver muttered.

He had no specific wish to begin with; he had only joined the Holy Grail War to prove himself to his teachers and classmates who had denied him. In contrast, Iskandar had a more significant concern.

"Hmm... Honestly, I am disappointed to hear this," Iskandar scratched his beard, "But if the Holy Grail is contaminated, there's nothing we can do."

After all, Iskandar had to be cautious about any potential risks, considering he intended for the Holy Grail to reshape his body.

Both Waver and Iskandar had made their positions clear, expressing varying degrees of agreement with Tatsuya's proposal. This was the most practical option given the current circumstances.

As for Gilgamesh, he merely turned his head toward Tatsuya with an expression of extreme boredom, prompting everyone to tacitly agree not to ask him for his opinion.

Thus, under the supervision of Kotomine Risei, the Masters of Archer, Rider, and Berserker reached a new consensus—to purify the Greater Holy Grail and stop the Fourth Holy Grail War.

Afterward, both Tatsuya and Waver, as the two groups who had contributed the most to the crusade against Caster the previous night, each received an additional Command Seal from Risei as a reward.

Both of them noticed that the extra stroke on their Command Seals made them look a bit odd, but since it was a valuable magical resource, nothing was said.

The only one who couldn't voice his frustration was Tokiomi himself, who had planned the crusade but gained nothing because the King of Heroes never followed his orders.

After the brief meeting, Tokiomi stayed behind to discuss the subsequent plan with Father Risei, while Tatsuya and Waver left the Cathedral Church with their respective Servants.

"Cheer up, boy!" Iskandar patted Waver. "Although the Holy Grail War can no longer continue, the extra Command Seals we've received might still come in handy."

Waver looked at the King of Conquerors helplessly. "Are you an idiot? You can't use Command Seals to purify the Holy Grail. Anyway—"

"Not necessarily. There are still some people who haven't accepted this plan," Tatsuya interrupted.

His words made both Waver and Iskandar tense, especially Iskandar.

Not only had they discovered that Saber's true Master was someone else, but it was also clear that her relationship with her actual Master was very strained, making it impossible for them to fight together.

Considering Kiritsugu Emiya's earlier attitude, it was hard not to wonder whether he would ignore the consensus reached by the three groups and continue the Holy Grail War.

"From this perspective, both Saber and her Master seem like the type of people who get caught up in trivial matters," Iskandar remarked harshly. "I wanted to give Saber a good lecture last night, but my plan was disrupted."

"That's unnecessary, King of Conquerors," Morgan suddenly spoke up. "If you've decided to shoulder the fate of Britain, you should have fully realized it. If someone's words alone could change your mind, then this would never have happened in the first place."

Iskandar considered her words for a moment. "That's true, but as Saber's sister, you're quite similar, aren't you?"

"Who knows? As a Servant, perhaps I've already reached the end and made a choice I firmly believe in," Morgan replied with confidence. "Everything that's happening now is just an extension of that choice."

"It's certainly different," Iskandar acknowledged with a laugh. "At least you don't have that confusion on your face like Saber does."

"I'm past that stage," Morgan simply responded.
