章節 5: Chapter 4: Exploring TOT

After these words appeared on the screen, it vanished, and a portal appeared in its place. Above it was written "Entrance to the Tower's 1st Floor."

With anticipation, I walked through the portal. As I emerged, the sight that greeted me was awe-inspiring—a vast lobby stretched out before me, larger than anything I had ever imagined. The sheer scale of it was staggering; thousands of people bustled about, creating a constant hum of activity that reverberated through the air.

I couldn't even see the end of the lobby. I found myself standing at a seemingly random spot in this immense expanse. The ceiling soared high above, disappearing into shadows. I quickly opened the stats screen.

[Stats]

Name: Alex

Health: 100%

Stamina: 90%

Agility: 7

Defense: 6

Endurance: 7

(The stats are the same as before)

I immediately noticed some new options on the screen: Map and Friends—which was empty.

I selected the Map, and a large map of the area appeared. It depicted the expansive lobby with my current location prominently marked. Above the map, in bold letters, it stated, "Country AAAAAA—Area No. 6969." (Every Country i name will have the same naming sense. A single letter repeated 6 times.)

"So the map is divided into countries and different areas. My area number is 6969; that's an unusual number." I murmured to myself

In the center of the lobby of Area 6969, there was a sign that read "Teleporter." I started walking towards it. As I approached, I saw four distinct teleporter gates:

The first gate was labeled for Portal to area _______.

The second gate beckoned towards the Entertainment District.

The third gate stood ready for the Shop.

The forth gate was designated for the 1st-10th Floor Trial Area.

Surveying my options, I choose my next move. "I think I should familiarize myself with the tower today," I decided, realizing the importance of understanding the layout and resources available in this vast, labyrinthine structure.

Thinking this, I started heading towards the Shop-1-10 floor area 6969. Upon entering, I was greeted by another lobby teeming with thousands of people moving in every direction. Various counters with screens were scattered throughout the area.

Curious, I approached one of the nearest screens. It scanned me briefly before illuminating with a list of items available for sale. However, to my disappointment, every item was marked as unavailable.

[Unavailable—Please complete the 1st floor trial before using the shop function]

"So the shop isn't usable for now. I need to clear the 1st floor of the Tower of Trials first."

My next stop was the Entertainment District, which boasted four distinct areas, each catering to different desires and forms of entertainment within the Tower of Trials:

Private Room Area: Here, participants could acquire a private room solely for themselves or invite someone offering solitude and privacy amidst the bustling tower. and invite someone.

PvP Area: This arena served as a venue for resolving disputes through direct competition. PvP had evolved into a popular spectator sport, with matches broadcasted beyond the tower's walls.

Training Room: As a dedicated space for skill enhancement, the Training Room offered participants the opportunity to hone their abilities. Whether mastering combat techniques, refining survival strategies, or improving overall proficiency.

Red-Light District: Known for its indulgent offerings, the Red-Light District catered to more primal desires and pleasures. It was a zone where participants could unwind and indulge in various forms of entertainment that needed no explanation.

All three areas, along with the lobby, entertainment district, and shop, belonged to the 1st-10th Floor of the Tower of Trials.

"Now that I've visited all the places here, it's time to head back. I'll come back to challenge the tower after i reserch completely about it."

When Alex returned, he found himself back in the same spot where he had started—in his room.

The clock read 5 PM.

"I spent three hours in there," he mused aloud.

The rest of the day passed smoothly. The next day at school, his friends Joe and Kyle approached him again.

"Did you give the tower a go?" Joe asked eagerly.

"No," Alex admitted.

"That disappoints me. I thought you would have done it," kyle chimed in.

"Hey, your 18th birthday is coming soon. Are you thinking about challenging the towers?" Alex asked Joe.

"Yeah, dude. If nothing else, I can at least visit the entertainment district," Joe said with a grin.

Without elaborating further, Alex and kyle understood what Joe's excitement was about.

With the bell ringing, signaling the end of their conversation, the classes resumed and they returned to their seats.

Later that day, back at home, Alex delved into research on the First Floor of the Tower of Trials.

"The first floor thrusts you into a normal world facing a zombie apocalypse," Alex began. "You wake up aboard a train bound for Busan. Eventually, the outbreak starts, and survival becomes paramount. The goal is to reach Busan safely, where the military is accepting survivors."

"As the train heads towards Busan, it stops at an intermediate station where passengers seek refuge. However, the station is quickly overrun by zombies, and survival hinges on sticking close to a man protecting a pregnant woman. They manage to return to the train and continue towards Busan."

"During the journey, the train halts near another station with blocked tracks, forcing passengers to disembark and find an alternate route to a Busan," Alex continued, detailing the challenging obstacles participants must navigate.

This artical also came with a note

"Note: Beware of self-preservation instincts among fellow passengers; they may sacrifice anyone to ensure their survival, and try not to get out of the train when it stops at Daejeon Station the survival will become much easiar"

"This is the gist of the scenario posted online, with no further details," Alex concluded.

"Is this all what the fuck is it. Its missing a lot of the plot.

"But Alex remembers more. The film opens with a scene in which an infected deer, released from a quarantine zone, contaminates a nearby area. This sets the stage for the ensuing chaos.

"I think I know enough about this world" Alex reflected.

'It's time to train myself and get ready."
