"What did she say?" Mr. Wright asked. He was curious.
"She said she loved me." She paused, her lips thinned. She never thought she'd ever get to say those words. That her mother genuinely loved her. "She also said she left me some inheritance. She talked about Benjamin too."
A sorrowful look crossed the man's face. Oh, he missed his wife. It's been years but he never forgot about her.
Old Madam Wright sighed. "Valentina, dear."
"Nanna, who is Valentina?" Ruby asked, curiosity etched on her face.
"Your late grandma."
"Oh… May her soul rest in heaven." She said, putting a smile on everyone's lips.
Ruby's heard of her grandma and had seen her photos a lot. Just that she never knew her name.
"About the inheritance," Aunt Martha drew everyone's attention. She dug her hand into her bag and brought out a small vintage box.
Valerie frowned. It looked familiar.
