Just as Mrs. Wright's words dropped, Mr. Wright emerged from his study, a gloomy look etched on his face. He returned to the dining room, took his seat and picked up his cutlery and began to eat in silence.

Zoey's smile grew wider, her eyes gleaming with a sinister light, as she began to slice through the steak with ease. the tender meat surrendering to her blade with a soft, almost menacing gentleness.

After a long and uncomfortable silence, Mr. Wright's voice sounded in a low and measured tone. "I got a call from Mr. Smith," he began. Without lifting his gaze from his plate, he continued, "They're reconsidering your wedding to their son."

Mrs. Wright's gaze darted to her daughter, her heart racing with trepidation, afraid of Zoey letting out her dark side. However Zoey's serene expression made her exhale in relief.
