In the next episode, we get a strange notebook from the guards who rescued half of them, and weird images are painted on it. At the same time, the door of the guard room was knocked open by the zombies. The body that had laid on the ground before turned into a zombie, and it walked towards Leon, controlled by Louis.
He quickly aimed with a pistol and fired several shots at the head of the zombie, just like the zombie in the convenience store at the gas station. Although it was knocked down at first, it still struggled and tried to stand up.
He continued to fire a few more shots until the head of the zombie busted like a watermelon, finally stopping it from moving.
At the same time, the pistol in Louis's hand ran out of bullets. Hastily leaving the guard room, the music in the headphones became more intense, and the roar of zombies continued.
Facing all this, Louis had no means of resistance left. He was accidentally bitten by a zombie on the way, and the heartbeat interface in the game changed from a healthy green to yellow-red. Leon visibly slowed down, stumbling as his running became unusable.
Opening the backpack interface, he used the only treatment spray left. Louis sighed, knowing he was in serious trouble.
Back at the roller shutter door from before, Leon, controlled by Louis, had just climbed two-thirds of the way out when a zombie grabbed his leg. The zombie's greasy appearance, gray-black skin, and messy bloody flesh could almost be felt through the screen.
"No, no-! Let me go-! Let me go-!" Louis felt a surge of panic. Although it was just an animated scene, he couldn't control it and his heart was pounding.
But the next moment, the game screen suddenly froze.
???
The Game crash?
"The demo version of the game is over; please purchase the full version for a complete experience."
Looking at the game screen and returning to the main menu, Louis felt a wave of frustration. Oh right, it's a demo version. But how could they end the intense scene like that? What happened to Leon!? There's a full version of the game, but you haven't even released it yet. How am I supposed to buy it? There's no option to pre-order.
Louis sat silently in front of the computer, speechless for a long time. Such a scene happened to countless players of "Resident Evil", this is too frustrating.
Even knowing this tactic was to drive up sales, it didn't make it any less annoying. What happens next to Leon, and why are there so many zombies in Raccoon City?
Countless questions haunted players' minds, while John and the team members on the other side were busy finalizing the rest of the game and implementing some minor bug fixes found by the test team.
Looking over the full version of the game "Resident Evil," John sat at his desk, jotting down notes. The more he studied, the more John felt that "Resident Evil" could succeed beyond even the expectations from his memories.
Setting aside the nostalgia from his parallel memories, this game was designed as a benchmark for commercial horror games.
Unlike other horror games where players feel helpless, in "Resident Evil" players have some means to defend themselves. Aside from the indestructible creatures that chase them, players have sufficient weapons and items to face most enemies.
The horror lies not just in sudden scares, though there are moments like that, but in a tension that constantly oppresses the player.

The online trial version of "Resident Evil" launched, and players quickly became invested.
"WTF, the demo is only half an hour long? What about the storyline?"
"What happened to Leon? Was he bitten? Did he get away!?"
"This game is intense-!"
"Am I the only one who thinks this game is awesome? It feels so realistic. Compared to movie zombies, the zombies in 'Resident Evil' are insanely good. The texture of the gory details is surreal."
"I heard it's less scary than 'Outlast,' so I tried it for a bit, but it's still terrifying, especially when you run out of bullets facing zombies, and get bitten."
"Seeing zombies from afar is okay, but when they get up close, their teeth and torn flesh look so real that it's nauseating."
"But Leon is seriously cool. He's probably the best horror game protagonist!"
Countless players discussed the demo version of "Resident Evil."
And many in the gaming industry analyzed the game quality. Even from a simple demo, it was clear just what kind of game "Resident Evil" was shaping up to be.
