章節 3: Chp-3: Competition Heats Up

*Translator Notes:

I want to make it known that Rin Uchiha and Rin Nohara are two different characters.

You can blame the original author's lack of creativity for not choosing a different name for this character.

Out of respect for the author and to not affect continuity, I will be retaining the same name.*

Early in the morning, Hyuga Satoru struggled to get up and head to the Ninja Academy after a restless night.

The excitement of awakening the electromagnetic force had kept him up almost all night, resulting in dark circles around his eyes. His white pupils looked like the filling of a sandwich amidst the dark rings.

"Hey! Satoru, why do you look so tired today?" asked Anko, curiously eyeing him while munching on some colorful dango sticks.

"It's nothing."

Anko thought for a moment, then leaned in closer and whispered, "Satoru, what did you mean by 'survive till the end' yesterday?"

Hyuga Satoru pondered for a moment before replying, "It's something very impressive."

"Oh!" Seeing that he wasn't going to elaborate, Anko pouted and stopped pressing the issue.

Looking at the sugar-glazed, fatty dango in Anko's hand, Hyuga Satoru couldn't help but feel a bit nauseous as he imagined her turning into a middle-aged woman in the future.

Now, she wasn't particularly pretty, but she was still decent. How could she turn into an old auntie?

"By the way, a piece of advice: eat fewer sweets."

"Why?" Anko took another bite of her dango and glanced at Hyuga Satoru. "Will it keep me from surviving till the end?"

Hyuga Satoru thought for a moment and replied, "It's worse than not surviving till the end."

Anko: ???

Just as Anko was about to say something, someone in the class shouted, "The homeroom teacher is here," and the chaotic classroom instantly fell silent as everyone straightened up and sat properly.

Daikichi Fujino walked to the podium with a textbook in hand and smiled as he announced, "Students, today's morning session will focus on theory lessons. In the afternoon, we'll have practical shuriken-throwing training. I hope you all study diligently."

Shuriken-throwing practice? Hyuga Satoru raised an eyebrow. This would be a perfect opportunity to test his control over shurikens using the electromagnetic force, especially after last night's extensive practice with kitchen utensils.

"Students, please turn to Chapter 1, Section 3 of your 'Outline of the Will of Fire' textbook. We'll continue yesterday's lesson."

"Alright…"

As Hyuga Satoru glanced at the textbook filled with analyses of the Will of Fire, he felt drowsy. He decided to use the book as a pillow and fell asleep on the desk.

Seeing this, Daikichi Fujino's eyelid twitched with anger, but then he seemed to think of something and shook his head slightly.

"As a branch family member of the Hyuga clan, not working hard can lead to a very miserable fate."

He then looked at another student in the class, a boy with bandages on his forehead and white pupils, who was seriously reading the textbook.

Daikichi Fujino smiled slightly. "Compared to him, Iroha is much more studious."

After some time, Hyuga Satoru stretched lazily, feeling refreshed. Not only did he not feel weak like he did in the morning, but he also felt full of energy.

He figured that the electromagnetic force must have adjusted his bio-magnetic field during his rest, helping him recover more quickly.

Although he couldn't actively control his bio-magnetic field yet, he believed that as he trained and improved his electromagnetic force, he might be able to do so in the future, potentially gaining the ability to heal quickly like the First Hokage.

In the afternoon, Daikichi Fujino took the students to the training ground to start shuriken-throwing practice, explaining techniques such as wrist strength and throwing methods.

Hyuga Satoru noticed that most of the clan children were uninterested, while the civilian children listened intently.

The reason was simple: clan heirs usually received training from their elders before entering the academy, while civilian children rarely had access to such knowledge, starting at a disadvantage.

No matter the era, civilians were always like grass waiting to be mowed, Hyuga Satoru thought.

Even though it was the beginning of the term, some students already had significant chakra reserves, their bio-magnetic fields much stronger compared to the civilian students, who seemed like fireflies in comparison.

Among them, the one with the most vigorous bio-magnetic field was the white-haired boy at the front. Hyuga Satoru frowned.

"Kakashi Hatake's bio-magnetic field is so strong. He must have almost Chunin-level chakra by now. No wonder he became a Jonin at twelve."

"Alright, the explanation is over," Daikichi Fujino clapped his hands. "Now it's time for the throwing practice. I'll record your scores. Pureko, you're first."

"Yes."

The black-haired girl timidly responded and stepped forward. A wooden target was set about ten meters away, with a bamboo basket full of shurikens next to it.

Pureko picked up a shuriken, recalled Daikichi Fujino's instructions, and threw it forcefully at the target.

Smack!

The shuriken hit the outer ring.

"6 points, not bad."

Pureko threw a few more.

"5 points, 6 points, 7 points…"

After the fifth throw, Daikichi Fujino nodded. "Next."

Hyuga Satoru observed the shuriken-throwing, moving his fingers slightly. Several shurikens on the edge of the bamboo basket trembled.

"Shurikens are light. According to Newton's second law, force and mass are inversely proportional. It should be easier to manipulate them compared to kitchen knives."

Just then, exclamations arose from the crowd.

"Oh my god, how did he do that?"

Hyuga Satoru looked over and saw Kakashi holding several shurikens in each hand, throwing them simultaneously with fluid movements, all hitting the bullseye.

"Amazing!"

"Is he… a genius?"

Daikichi Fujino smiled and nodded. "His basic skills are solid. His shuriken-throwing technique is already comparable to that of an average Chunin. As expected of the White Fang's son."

"Kakashi Hatake, full marks. Next."

"I'll go."

As soon as Daikichi Fujino finished speaking, a black-haired girl with a stern expression darted out from the crowd to Kakashi's position. She threw shurikens with both hands in a fluid motion, all hitting the bullseye.

"As expected of the Uchiha clan. Rin Uchiha, full marks!" Daikichi Fujino said with satisfaction.

Does it have to be this competitive?

Hyuga Satoru's eyelids twitched.

In his eyes, Rin Uchiha had already become the epitome of competitiveness.

In his previous life, he had enough of competitive people. Who would've thought he'd encounter another one after transmigrating into the Naruto world?

Rin Uchiha glanced coldly at Kakashi and returned to her spot, while Obito Uchiha cheered excitedly beside her.

"Hey, Kakashi, did you see that? That's the strength of the Uchiha clan. Just wait, I'll defeat you too!"

Kakashi completely ignored him.

Hyuga Satoru watched Obito in disbelief, as did the rest of the class, seeing him as a fool. Who could imagine that this guy would become a major villain in the future?

"Next, Obito Uchiha."

"It's my turn." Obito walked forward excitedly. "Watch closely, everyone. I've been secretly practicing shuriken-throwing for a long time."

Rin Uchiha's performance had clearly boosted his confidence.

He picked up a shuriken and threw it forcefully, but to everyone's surprise, the shuriken missed the target entirely.

"Missed, 0 points," Daikichi Fujino said wearily.

"I don't believe it! That was an accident!" Obito angrily threw another shuriken, only to miss again.

"0 points," Daikichi Fujino repeated, exasperated.

Kakashi glanced at Obito, then quickly looked away.

Rin Uchiha turned her face away, as if to say, "Don't look at me; I'm not associated with him."

"That was a mistake! I'm better than this!" Obito threw another shuriken.

"0 points…"

And another.

"0 points…"

Laughter erupted around them.

Obito's face turned red with embarrassment, like a fully inflated chili pepper, his teeth grinding loudly.

"I refuse to believe this!" He threw his last shuriken with all his might.

Smack!

The shuriken lodged itself firmly in the bullseye.

Silence fell over the crowd.

Obito stared in disbelief before bursting into laughter.

"See, I told you that was just a mistake! This is my true skill. Did you see that?"

He turned around, only to find everyone looking at him like he was an idiot. Rin Uchiha covered her face with her hand, contemplating whether to eliminate him early to save the Uchiha clan's reputation.

"What… what's going on? I clearly hit the bullseye?" Obito stammered.

Daikichi Fujino spoke wearily, "Obito, take a closer look."

Obito turned around and gaped, his mouth wide enough to swallow an orange.

"How… how is this possible?"

His shuriken had hit the bullseye of a different target several meters away, where another student was about to throw, looking bewildered.

In the corner, Hyuga Satoru's lips curled into a slight smile as he discreetly withdrew his hand.
