章節 5: Successful Trade
So, if, for some unknown reason, the fact that he owns a two-star healing pill were to be revealed, plenty of people would try to rob him of his healing pill. Keeping his life would also be a question worth pondering.
Because of that, Liu Mingli never told anybody about his possession of a two-star healing pill, not even people whom he considers his closest friends.
Yet, this random guy named Ren Ying, who, out of nowhere, approached him and requested an exchange of stuff for his pill,. Though the exchange happened to be in his favor, but can he guarantee that Ren Ying, this unknown guy, had no ill intention?
Ren Ying stared at him speechlessly.
Could I ever have any ill motives with my body state?
Naturally, Liu Mingli wasn't aware of Ren Ying's current body state or how he came to know of this healing pill. Even if he asked, Ren Ying would just tell him nothing; after all, this wasn't something that he could have people know, especially his innate pupil ability.
"Okay, I do have it. But before we exchange stuff, can you tell me how you found out that I have this two-star healing pill?" Liu Mingli knew that no one would be foolish enough to reveal this, but he still wanted to try.
"How do I know it? I naturally have my own way of obtaining that information. You don't need to worry about it." Ren Ying refused to give out any information.
He knew that even if he didn't give any information or fulfill his wishes, Liu Mingli would still agree to exchange his healing pill with him as the two-star weapon worth more than the healing pill; second, the secret of him owning a healing pill has been exposed.
So, who would turn down a profitable business? Who would choose a worse choice and place their life in danger?
Of course, it could be anyone but Liu Mingli.
'Only a fool would refuse this." Liu Mingli thought to himself as he extended his hand out.
"I agree to it, but on one condition." He said this right after their hands reached each other.
"You can state your condition, as long as it's not too extreme, I'll be sure to agree to it." Ren Ying's face turned stiff.
"My condition is simple: I want you to keep the secret of our exchange today to yourself without informing a third party."
"Keeping it a secret, right? I'm fine with this condition."
Keeping it a secret was also what Ren Ying desired; after all, it wouldn't be good if people knew of his injuries because they could rob him the next time he went out of the sect, so this condition was actually good for both of them.
After reaching an agreement, Ren Ying took out the two-star sword out of his ring space. He handed them over to Liu Mingli as he took the two-star healing pill away from his hand.
Ren Ying inspected the pill that he was holding in his hand, making sure that it looked exactly the same as what he saw in his memories, before putting it away and waiting patiently for Liu Mingli to finish his inspection.
Not long after, Liu Mingli put it carefully inside his space ring as he turned his attention to Ren Ying.
"Well, it's a pleasure to do this business with you, fellow disciple Ren Ying." Liu Mingli said happily after he got overpaid.
"It's indeed a pleasure, Liu Mingli." Ren Ying replied without much thought.
He just wanted to go back and heal his injuries right now, but this guy kept spouting nonsense, giving him no chance to bid farewell.
"Here is my communication talisman. If you have any other needs, you can contact me." Liu Mingli handed out a talisman to him, a piece of paper made by talisman master that people in this cultivation world used to contact each other from a long distance.
Personally, Ren Ying doesn't want to accept Liu Mingli communication talisman at all, because he doesn't think that this person's luck could still be that great. The most important part was that he just made a losing exchange.
He knew that the reason why Liu Mingli accepted this transaction so easily was because he offered a two-star weapon; if he were to offer anything else, he would be turned down instantly by Liu Mingli.
This made Ren Ying kind of resent Liu Mingli, but on the other hand, he was thankful that he could get his hands on this two-star healing pill. Emotionally, Ren Ying doesn't want to accept this communication talisman, but logically, he needed to accept it.
When someone offered you their communication talisman, it meant they wanted to make friends with you, so refusing to take their communication talisman would tell them that you had no intention of befriending them.
If Ren Ying showed that he had no intention of befriending him, it could end up offending Liu Mingli, and turned him from a business partner to an enemy. Even if Liu Mingli doesn't show any negative emotion on the surface, secretly he would consider Ren Ying as a potential 'friend' that he could backstab later on.
As the saying goes, "Its better to make friends than to make enemies."
Ren Ying thought for a while, then he took the communication talisman and bid farewell to Liu Mingli.
He went back to his house at a normal speed and appeared to have nothing urgent going on to hide the fact that he had serious injuries scattered everywhere on and in his body, and besides, he couldn't really run even if he wanted to in his body state. Along the way, he kept paying attention to his surroundings in case he got followed by someone.
As soon as Ren Ying got home, he entered his house directly while closing the door carefully.
Having sat on the bed, he took out the two-star healing pill from his space ring and held it in front on him.
'After I consume this pill, it will be time for me to start my own journey and make a name for myself...' Ren Ying thought excitedly but soon calmed down.
He sat in a lotus position on top of his bed, while controlling his breathing speed. A while later, being seemingly stabilized enough, Ren Ying slowly placed the healing pill inside his mouth as he swallowed it.
5 minutes after swallowing it, he could feel a comfortable, rich energy appearing one after another as the pill slowly get digested by the stomach acid. In the memories of the old Ren Ying, upon eating a healing pill, a Qi rich of Earth attribute would enter your body, and then one would use that Qi to heal any injuries that existed on their body.
While recalling it, he noticed that now was the time for him to start gathering and guiding those energy toward different areas of his body that had injuries or wounds.
First, he separated those energies by a little, and sent them to his legs.
When the energy arrived in his legs, he stopped guiding them and stopped them there. Without waiting for too long, his legs that could only be used for walking right now, showed a sign of healing.
Ren Ying smiled happily as he controlled the rest of the energies and sent them to other areas of his body. During that, he noticed that his control of energy seemed to be better than that of old Ren Ying.

Up in the sky, the birds were flying freely, accompanied by their companions.
They sang as they flew from one direction to another, unbeknown to ordinary people.
The sun rose high yet again, washing away the loneliness of the night.
At this point in time, people had already woken up from their dream world; some were filled with despair as they knew that their real life could never get as good as their dream life, while others were full of hope as they had yet to give up on life.
One of those people who had yet to give up, opened his eyes slightly and stared straight outside the window at the boundless world outside.
"Here I come, the cultivation world." Ren Ying announced his intention to enter the cultivation world for the cultivators that stood between the earth and heaven.
"Not that they could hear me anyway, haha." He brushed it off embarrassingly, but not a sign of regret was shown on his face.
After all, being able to solve a crisis in the cultivation world as an ordinary guy from a peaceful world wasn't so easy. The mental strength and mindset of the people in a lawless world and a peaceful world were on a whole different level.
Not that Ren Ying complained about his life on his planet, after all, it was peaceful, and that led to a quality leap in technology as well as a living condition.
So both worlds had their own pros and cons.
章節 6: First mission
Ren Ying thought of his next plan as his body was back to its prime state.
Currently, he had a thunder-type main cultivation manual, combined with a movement technique that the old Ren Ying had snatched from other people.
In the cultivation world, a cultivation manual would only allow you to improve your realm, which meant the quantity and quality of one's own Qi.
Along with the rightful techniques, cultivators could use that Qi to perform different sorts of feats, like freezing the entire city, turning a crowded city into a ghostly place, and many more.
Those techniques were divided into many categories, such as attacking type, defending type, movement type, body tempering type, and many more. Though some techniques weren't popular in some attributes due to their uniqueness.
For example, a thunder-type attribute doesn't have such a defending technique. Because thunder were mainly known for their speeds, instead of defending or blocking the attack head-on, thunder-type cultivators would use the advantage of their speeds to dodge those attacks, and sometimes they might even attack as a way to defend.
Most thunder-type cultivators, would often temper their bodies using different types of thunder according to the requirements of their body tempering technique. The reason for this was that they had no choice at all but to do so.
After all, not everybody could move at the speed of thunder freely without causing damage to their body, unlike Ren Ying, who had a strong enough physique barely fitting the requirement for using [Thunder Trace], thanks to his special pupil.
But still, if his realm kept getting higher, then his body couldn't simply catch up. So he would have to find or develop a body-tempering skill sooner or later, unless he was born with a special physique, but unfortunately he didn't have such luck.
In addition to body-tempering skills, Ren Ying also needed to get his hands on or self-create an offensive technique since he doesn't own any right now.
"Now that my body is fully healed, it is the best time for me to start cultivating." He went on to cultivate directly without wasting any time.

Starting from that day onward, Ren Ying rarely went out of his house unless it was absolutely necessary, like going outside to stock up his food and to observe people's opportunities to find a suitable one that he could snatch.
He spent those time inside his room, mainly on improving his realm, which was on the middle-first-realm. Besides that, Ren Ying also spent half of that time focusing on 'his' Thunder Trace.
The speed of his comprehension seemed to be faster than that of the old Ren Ying, according to the memories.
He just thought that maybe it was due to him devouring the other party's soul, which possessed a rather good comprehension talent, combined with his untested comprehension talents, that raised his comprehension talent to a higher level.
As for getting it tested? For what reason should he get it tested?
'So, that I could brag about it? forget about it.' Ren Ying was determined to keep this a secret.

He could only sigh helplessly as he understood that the difference between him and the old Ren Ying was their comprehension talent.
Comparing his movement technique, Thunder Trace, to before he took over this body was like the difference between a kid who only knew how to walk and a kid who finally learnt how to run.
His control over Thunder Trace could now be said to be close to fully mastered, judging by the fact that he could use it freely inside his small house without destroying anything inside it.
"It's time for me to go out and explore the world." Ren Ying muttered to himself.
A few days ago, just like how he acted the last 2 months. He went out to observe people walking on the street, eating, drinking, and talking without being too obvious, just so he could look into their opportunities.
On that day, he thought hopelessly that his 'opportunities' hadn't arisen yet again, just like usual. Right before he went home and continued his daily practice, an unlucky guy appeared in the corner of his eye, running toward the mission hall.
When he ran past Ren Ying, his luck aura was brighter and purer than that of any other person presented in that place from the perspective of Ren Ying's innate pupil eye.
Out of curiosity and unwillingness to accept his cultivation progress, Ren Ying took a glance at his opportunity. When his vision switched to that of an unexplainable place, he observed patiently.
At the end of the vision, Ren Ying's eye lit up as he realized that the so-called opportunity that he had been waiting for had arrived.

During this time, he had already prepared all of the necessities required for going out. Not only that, Ren Ying had already planned out the mission that he would undertake in order to travel outside.
In the sect, going outside or staying outside without any reason was not permitted. So taking on the tasks was the only way out for Ren Ying.
After he made sure that everything he had prepared, such as foods, some normal healing medicines, and other stuff like a camping tent, was ready, he set out to the mission hall.
On the way to the mission hall, everybody was running there with a high expectation, that they would encounter great opportunities that could turn their cultivation life around, just like what they had read in the book of history.
Some were going there alone, while others were in a team full of people engaging in a conversation or discussion about their plan, goals, and the distribution of the reward after completing the missions.
Unlike everybody else, who ran to get there as soon as possible to take on a limited number of missions, Ren Ying walked normally, taking his time while looking at people from time to time.
He was not worried about other people taking on his mission, because the missions that he was about to take on were those of a normal task. There was no shortage of normal missions, unlike special missions, and their risks were also lower, making it a good mission for Ren Ying, who just wanted to take on a mission to go outside.
His mission required him to hunt down 100 Spiky Rabbits that were known for their speed and painful yet not lethal attack, due to them possessing a thunder attribute.
Because of their speed, the number of people who could catch them was not high. Because of that, the duration of this task was as long as 1 month.
Few people would take on this task just for the sake of getting contribution points, as there were many other better options. Those few people who took on this task—most of them—did so just to use this chance to practice their movement technique, just like this one unlucky guy that Ren Ying set his eyes on.
Before long, Ren Ying had reached the entrance to the mission hall, a place that could determine most people's future.
The entrance, along with the entire building, was built using high-quality wood mixed with some stones to increase its sturdiness.
Inside the mission hall, was also built using the same material, except there were more decorations placing in a carefully planned location, making the inside of the building look like an adventurer guild.
If one looked carefully, they would notice the existence of a weird, unreadable symbol being carved on the wall, complicated yet carefully designed.
'So this is the doing of an array master." The evaluation of the building's sturdiness had increased in Ren Ying's eyes.
Since, according to the memories, array masters were capable of increasing the sturdiness of materials by carving countless symbols on them. And this was just the beginning of what array masters could do.
Rumors had it, that an expert array master could change their terrain however they liked, for example, turning a non-raining area into a non-stop raining area, increasing the quantity and quality of surrounding Qi within the array. They were also capable of making a offensive array used for attacking, a defensive array used for defending, and many countless other things that an ordinary cultivator like him could never imagine.
'It's good to be an array master...' Ren Ying thought enviously about how much those people could earn daily.
