Our project was going great, and we were meeting up one last time to finish everything. Ali suggested this fancy French restaurant, 'Les Palais des Servieurs.'

I don’t even know if I’m pronouncing it right. I tried not to bite my tongue because I kinda like my tongue.

Ali claimed it was close to his house, and I could tell he wanted me to visit afterward. But I wasn’t in the mood for that. Maybe next time. The only "Friend's house" I’ve ever been to was Fiona’s.

So, after school, he drove us there. Yep, he drove. He’s got a car—like most of the people in my class, unlike me. Poor me, but okay...

We were still in our school uniforms when we arrived.

The restaurant was like stepping into a little slice of Paris, right in the middle of our town. The décor was classic French, all soft lighting, and fancy chandeliers, with red velvet booths and lace curtains hanging over tall windows. You could smell buttery pastries, rich sauces, and herbs the moment you walked in.
