章節 2: Arc Reactor

{Hall of Humanity, Unknown Time}

As I stood in awe of the intricate details of the Miniature Quantum Arc Reactor displayed on the holographic panels, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement and urgency. This technology could revolutionize everything. The panels showcased the step-by-step creation process, from the initial design to the final assembly. My heart pounded with excitement and anticipation.

"How do I retain all of this?" I wondered aloud.

[You can return here whenever you sleep. The Hall of Humanity will be accessible to you in your dreams,] the Voice responded, its tone robotic.

"Really? So every time I sleep, I can come back here and learn more?"

[Yes, you have been granted access to the Hall and all of its resources after all if you couldn't come back my primary function couldn't be met.]

"That's amazing," I muttered, already planning my next visit. "Can you show me the Arc Reactor blueprints again?"

[Of course,] the Voice replied, and the holographic panels once again displayed the detailed blueprints.

I focused intently on the design, committing every detail to memory. I knew I'd have to memorize the blueprints piece by piece, night after night, to bring this revolutionary technology to life.

With a deep breath, I opened my eyes and found myself back in the metal room with B.M.O still clutching my leg. The room was shaking slightly, remnants of the earlier explosion.

"Nicolas! Are you alright?" Dad's voice brought me back to reality.

"I'm fine, Dad." I replied recalling the blueprints in my mind, I needed to keep on recalling them or they would leave my memory.

Still thoughts on the Hall of Humanity obviously entered my head too, after all a place like that was amazing and could help me advance to heights unattainable but still there were multiple reasons that obviously made me keep my guard against it, after all a place that could transport my consciousness to it and allowed me to learn things that didn't exist in this universe was something to be wary of.

There was also one thing that bugged me from the conversation with the Voice its primary function was to cultivate geniuses but that also meant that it had secondary functions of which I knew nothing about.

"Nico…"

B.M.O's voice reached my ears as he kept tugging at my pants with a worried look on his face, it seemed like I had gotten too caught up in my thoughts.

"Sorry B.M.O I got a little sidetracked."

"Nicolas, I prohibit you from leaving the factory that bomb was something dangerous, evil. This place is the safest on the entire planet so we will stay here until the wars of humanity wash over."

I just nodded at my father's words after all as of yet it didn't matter what I wanted since hacking the doors open was basically impossible as long as my dad was near.

"B.M.O let's go back to our room I have something in mind I want to build."

"Okay."

We walked back over to my room under the watchful eyes of thousands of other MOs, it was honestly creepy especially since the oldest generation of MOs moved as robotically as they could yet my dad refused to scrap them and turn them into new MOs, in his words every MO was like his child.

The metal doors closed behind us leaving only B.M.O and myself in the room that was if you didn't count the cameras placed on each top corner of the roof.

"B.M.O wanna build something new."

"Yay new brothers."

"No B.M.O we won't be building Ns I have something else in mind."

"First we have to create the new element, I hope we have all the stuff here."

I rummaged through the cluttered workshop, scanning the shelves for materials. This would be the first step in a series of complex tasks that would lead me to the creation of the Miniature Quantum Arc Reactor.

"Alright, B.M.O, we need to start with the reactor's core. Let's build a containment unit first," I said, pulling out a few metal sheets and various tools.

The first order of business was creating a structure sturdy enough to handle the immense energy that would be generated. I decided on a triangular shape for the containment unit, as it would offer both stability and symmetry. Hours turned into days as B.M.O, my N.R.Cs I worked tirelessly. The metal sheets were cut, welded, and reinforced with additional layers to ensure maximum durability.

It wasn't long before we had a suitable arc reactor which would probably be able to contain the core, maybe, possibly. Then we started on the most important part of the entire thing creating the new element the sad thing was that I didn't have much palladium in the factory after all it was a rather element, so building a metal rod which would later act as a conductor for the creation of the new element was worrisome to say the least.

After several more weeks of work, we built a small makeshift cyclotron and a place for the conductor were ready. I positioned the metal rod inside the containment unit, ensuring it was perfectly centered. Then, I set up the N.R.Cs around the cyclotron.

Once the laser hit the conductor it would act as a prism and there was no 100% certainty to know where it would fire off so I needed the N.R.Cs to turn the conductor slighlty once it was shot out to hit the palladium core placed in front of it.

"Ready, B.M.O?" I asked, wiping the sweat from my brow.

B.M.O nodded enthusiastically. "Ready, Nico!"

I activated the prismatic accelerator slash cyclotron siphoning energy from the factory since I needed a lot to power it. Soon, a small laser started running around the accelerator hitting the palladium with more and more energy as the revolutions continued adding up.

Until a fine blue laser shot out from the conductor. The intense energy burned through the walls, creating a mesmerizing display of light and heat.

"Start turning it!!" I yelled towards my N.R.Cs after all I had never seen something be able to burn through the metal walls and right now I didn't want to find out what would happen if it burnt fully through them.

The N.R.Cs started turning the vault in which the palladium conductor was contained, changing the laser's trajectory little by little into it happened.

The laser hit the centered palladium core leading up to it starting to absorb the energy from it , golden light started to shine into my room.

As the palladium core absorbed more energy, it started to change. The golden light intensified, increasing the temperature in the room. I watched in awe as the palladium transformed, taking on a new, radiant form.

"B.M.O SHUT IT DOWN NOW!" I instructed.

B.M.O slammed his hand down on a button at the beginning of the cyclotron's structure and shut down the cyclotron and all the energy from that was being siphoned from my room, leaving only the glowing core of the new element in its place.

I grabbed the small tongs at my waist and moved closer to the element. The heat was almost unbearable, but I wanted to be the one to place it into the reactor even if it was stupid I felt proud at my accomplishment.

Grasping the core with the tongs and lift it out of the containment unit. It pulsed with energy, a testament to the successful creation of the new element, which I obviously named Starkium a testament to the person who had originally made this.

"Let's place it into the reactor," I said, my voice filled with excitement.

We moved quickly, placing the core into the reactor's central chamber. As soon as it was in place, the reactor hummed to life, the new element providing a stable and powerful energy source. The holographic panels lit up, displaying the reactor's status and confirming that the new element was functioning perfectly.

"It looks like the reactor has accepted the core. We did it, B.M.O," I said, a wide grin spreading across my face.

"Yay! New element!" B.M.O cheered, jumping up and down.

Yet just as we were grinning in triumph my doors opened as a figure burst through them "NICOLAS MASTRO GIOVANNI WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO!"
