章節 78: Baba Voss

"How many men do we have on the Great Wall?" Haldor asked, alone with his most trusted follower.

"We have a hundred thousand good warriors. They are being fed enough to survive, but they won't hold out long with that kind of food."

Haldor understood the difficulties of having polished the wildlings, who now formed part of the Night's Watch. He had promised the Starks that he would kill any wildling who left the area where they would move, as long as later they would inherit lands to work on.

The armored bears were near the wall and would ensure that none of the men in Baba Voss's army disobeyed his orders.

There was no way things could go wrong; Haldor would not move any men from the wall until the border cities were in their final stages of construction.

"How is my father?"

"He returned to Frosgart and will remain there until our transition to the Seven Kingdoms is completely solid," said Baba Voss, who was more informed on the matter.

This was the most ideal situation for survival. No one fully trusted the soldiers of the Seven Kingdoms, but it made sense to wait for Haldor, as the North Star, to lead everyone to ensure their survival.

"My destiny, right?" Haldor murmured as he returned to the Silver Tower, where the knights of the Templar Order were being trained.

Haldor felt as though he had been used, or at least that's how it seemed to him. He watched as everyone looked at him like a god, someone who would bring them a future without war.

In the end, everyone sought a world that was increasingly less harsh. This is the path that every human being seeks during their development, from one point to another.

He wasn't entirely angry, just uncomfortable, but of course, he would take his share of the responsibility. Few could believe it, but it felt good to be the talk of everyone, to have someone look at you and feel that you're worth it.

"I will leave this place within a year at most; I will take my wife with me, and we will be at the Stone Fortress. There, I will create my kingdom, one cleaner and more loyal to humanity than to man," said Haldor, understanding the purpose that a dynasty must have.

Baba Voss, of course, did not understand Haldor's words; he did not know exactly what he meant. "What exactly do you mean?"

"If there is a kingdom to conquer, ambition will always exist. The world of my thoughts, despite the wars, will be governed by the values of man and life," said Haldor as he looked at his dragon, which was growing bigger every day.

He couldn't create something perfect; something perfect would never exist, but at least he would make life worth living.

"You've been more poetic since the last time we met. Has having a wife changed the way you think?"

Haldor smiled and said, "You should find yourself a good wife too. Do you want me to help you?"

"My staff will remain reserved for any unmarried woman who wants to ride it. I'll avoid any good warrior coming after my head for messing with his wife."

"At least you are wise," Haldor said with a hint of humor in his voice.

Now that Baba Voss had returned, Haldor planned to leave him in charge of transporting equipment and sending resources to the wall from the southern farms he now managed. With the cultivation methods from his past life, no one here would suffer from hunger.
