章節 18: Chapter 18: Conqueror’s Haki Splits the Sky
Despite Sharlo's warnings, many dockworkers, trusting him, fled the area. Those who remained at the port grew increasingly uneasy, especially as Sharlo stared intently in one direction. They finally noticed the approaching fleet of ten ships bearing pirate flags. Panic set in among the remaining merchants and bystanders.
"Jihahahaha! Is this the swordsman capable of flying slashes? Let me test him!" Shiki, the Golden Lion, laughed, sending a fifty-meter-long sword slash towards Sharlo from a hundred meters away.
Frowning, Sharlo countered with a slash of equal size. The two slashes collided over the sea, dissipating as they met. This display left the onlookers, including the Rocks Pirates crew, stunned.
"No way! Shiki's slash was blocked?" The pirates were astonished.
"Guhahaha! Shiki, it seems you're losing face!" Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) mocked. Enraged, Shiki unleashed a full-powered slash.
"Slash Wave!" he shouted, sending a hundred-meter-high slash cutting through the sea towards Sharlo. Realizing he couldn't retreat without risking the island's destruction, Sharlo countered with multiple slashes, eventually neutralizing Shiki's attack.
Even Newgate was impressed. "This kid's got some skill!" he admitted.
As the ships approached, Sharlo recognized the crew. "You're the Rocks Pirates!" he exclaimed, surprised to encounter them here.
Jihahaha! Seems our reputation precedes us!" Shiki laughed. "Kid, who are you?" He released a wave of Conqueror's Haki towards Sharlo. Unfazed, Sharlo countered with his own Conqueror's Haki.
"I'm Rockefeller Sharlo! This is my home!" he declared boldly. The pirates, initially thinking Sharlo was just a swordsman, were taken aback by his Haki.
Even Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom) and Kaido, who had been indifferent, now looked serious. Rocks D. Xebec, their captain, smiled faintly. "Rockefeller Sharlo!" Shiki repeated. "Kid, join our crew and be my officer!"
Sharlo frowned. "No. I'm not ready to set sail, and I won't serve under you. I'll start my own pirate crew and be my own captain!" he refused. Shiki, irritated, intensified his Haki. Sharlo matched his intensity, refusing to back down.
"Look, the sky's splitting!" the pirates observed as the clash of Haki affected the environment. "Guhahaha! This kid's got impressive Conqueror's Haki!" Newgate praised, joining the fray with his own Haki. Linlin and Kaido followed suit, releasing their Conqueror's Haki.
The five waves of Haki clashed violently, causing weaker pirates to faint or fall into the sea. The pressure even affected the surroundings, causing glass and wood to crack.
Rocks D. Xebec laughed, releasing his own dark red Conqueror's Haki with flashes of lightning, overpowering the others. The five immediately combined their Haki to resist his.
Watching this display, Shakky, the navigator, commented, "They're monsters." Others nodded in agreement, watching the six figures intensely.
Among them, Kaido's Haki was the weakest, while Sharlo's and Linlin's were equal. Whitebeard's Haki was slightly stronger than Shiki's, placing him at the forefront against Rocks' Haki.
"Not bad for the first division commander; his strength rivals the captain's," Shakky murmured. Rocks, unable to suppress the combined Haki, eventually returned to a neutral expression.
"Kid, you have two choices: join the Rocks Pirates or die!" Rocks stated coldly. After a moment of silence, Sharlo withdrew his Haki.
"Fine. I'll join," he agreed, expressionless
