章節 7: Chapter 7..
Michael and Alex snuck deeper into the warehouse, trying to get a better listen.
They hid behind a stack of crates, holding their breath.
"What project?" Sarah asked, her voice curious.
The guy leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "The one Malik's been planning for months.
He's been gathering resources and intel. This is just the beginning."
Michael's eyes met Alex's, and they both shrugged. What project could Malik be planning?
As they continued to eavesdrop, they learned that Sarah was supposed to meet Malik at an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town.
But that was it. No more information.
Michael and Alex waited until Sarah and the guy left, then they snuck out of the warehouse.
They decided to investigate the abandoned factory, but when they got there, they found nothing. No signs of Malik, no clues, no nothing.
As they walked back to school, Michael couldn't shake off the feeling that they were missing something.
He was determined to dig deeper.
"Alex, I need your help," Michael said, his mind racing. "Let's research Malik's past, see if we can find any connections to this project."
Alex nodded, and they started digging. But the more they researched, the more they realized that Malik's past was shrouded in mystery.
Michael sighed, rubbing his temples. He was getting nowhere with the investigation, and it was starting to frustrate him.
He decided to take a break and focus on his own life.
"Alex, I think I'm going to leave this investigation alone for now," Michael said, turning to his friend. "I need to focus on my own stuff."
Alex nodded understandingly. "Yeah, maybe that's a good idea. You've been pretty obsessed with it lately."
Michael nodded, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "Yeah, I need to take a step back."
As they walked back to school, Michael couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. He was done with the investigation, at least for now.
But as he walked into his history class, he saw Sarah sitting in the back, her eyes fixed on him.
He felt a shiver run down his spine.
What did she want?
Michael tried to ignore her, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that she was watching him.
After class, Sarah approached him. "Hey, Michael. Can I talk to you for a minute?"
Michael hesitated, but then nodded. "Sure, what's up?"
Sarah glanced around nervously. "I just wanted to say that I know you've been investigating me, and I want you to stop."
Michael raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"
Sarah leaned in, her voice low. "I know you've been following me, and I want you to leave me alone."
Michael shook his head. "Sarah, I don't know what you're talking about."
Sarah's eyes narrowed. "Don't play dumb, Michael. I know it's you."
With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Michael feeling confused and uneasy.
What's going on with Sarah? Is she involved in something shady? and what about Malik??
