Lin Feng only considered himself a strong Intermediate mage if he was acting alone and therefore only took on those missions.
In the next month he earned enough to buy a Spirit seed for his Water element as well which became his defacto offensive element after his Nebula reached the second tier.
It was far more efficient than his Rock Sharks or the Advance spell he could barely cast. He exterminated a few Sea Monkey nests near the coastline as he travelled the country alone for missions.
They were the perfect target to practice his Advanced spell on. Cowardly and less magically inclined, they wouldn't even react until the spell unleashed swords of light to fall on them.
They couldn't even jump into the sea since they could only swim and glide and not dive underwater. It's not that they couldn't it's just they were too weak to do so in deep waters.

As part of his training regimen, Lin Feng went solo and with new teams formed in haste to do so missions, his personal record wasn't just success filled like before.
The reason he did these missions were to train first and not to complete all of them, he was perfectly fine with some of them failing l, something he couldn't afford to in Clear Sky Hunting agency with Lingling.
But his points did increase dramatically over time and he had become a one star Master Hunter. From here onwards he would need to complete certain number of S rank or Reward Pool missions if he wanted to be promoted any further.
By the fourth month he had reached Intermediate level three in his Water element as well and a few days later he broke through the barrier that held his Earth Nebula in place. Another 294 stars were born in his new Galaxy as he prepared to spent some time to control them and release another Advanced spell. He brought back the Magic accelerator to speed up the process. Since his mental strength had reached the third realm, he should have been much faster than the first time around.
As for Soul seeds even if he had the money to buy them, he couldn't refine any of those that had a Domain. Although Zhao Manyan had the same elements as him and was richer than him, he never got as strong as Mo Fan since all the Soul seeds he bought was artificial and lacked a domain except his Earth element. Thus he wasn't willing to settle for one without a Domain.
Note: I am just speculating, Zhaos specs are revealed but his Earth element was most impressive in the Advanced level.
