章節 20: Chapter 20: Battle Trials
As All Might entered the classroom in the most conspicuous way possible I heard exclamations of awe and admiration from my classmates, which was as expected.
He was All Might. The most well-known person in the world. The Hero of Heroes, comparing simply to any other celebrity on my earth was a futile task.
He was a man with godlike strength the rest of humanity could only gawk at and a heroic charisma that demanded your attention. He was like a living god.
"Wow! That's really All Might!" "I heard rumours that he would be one of our teachers but to think it's true...!" "Isn't that his Silver Age Costume?" "I'm getting goosebumps!"
"I teach Hero Basic Training! It's a subject where you train in the various basics that are essential to becoming a splendid hero! You will be taking the most units from these classes." Then he started flexing and posing, I honestly had no idea why he was doing it but it sure was impressing our class.
"Let's get right to it! For today's class, we are doing... Combat Training!" As All Might's voice boomed a wave of excitement washed over the class, after all, we were all hotblooded youth wanting to beat up criminals for money and fame.
"And to go with that! Here they are!" All Might waved his hand and several columns emerged from the walls with numbers on them like locke- oh that one's wiring is faulty.
"Costumes made based on your quirk registrations and requests you sent in before school started. Grab your costumes and come to ground Beta after changing!" I had already sent my own design in beforehand and so had Toga.
Listening to our teacher's words everyone grabbed their costumes from their lockers and went to change in the locker rooms, as I took off my uniform, revealing the long sleeve compression shirt underneath Kirishima and Sugar Guy or something looked at me in confusion.
"Yo dude, why do you keep wearing that underneath your uniform? Doesn't it get sweaty?" I did not mind their inquiries. Such things were expected. I just shrugged.
"Not really, if I do get sweaty I can just use Micro Hydrokinesis to remove it. It just feels more comfortable is all." Saying that I slipped on my hero costume.
I designed it after the Arctic Region Chaldea Uniform from Fate Grand Order. It had both mobility and utility for me and it wasn't gaudy either. Plus I think they looked neat.
"Damn dude, I knew your quirk was strong but I didn't know it was that strong. What even is it? I can't nail down a theme with it." Said the large specimen of a man who was a sugar dude, in response to him I simply smirked.
"Well, no spoilers from me. If you wanna find out watch and see during class."
In truth, I just couldn't be bothered to explain.

As we arrived in ground beta I looked around my class and saw the costumes I remembered. I think mine was legitimately one of the few that didn't contain latex or skin tight.
All Might was standing in front of us greeting his class.
"They say clothes make the man, young men and ladies. Be aware, from now on you are fledgling heroes!" He really knows how to make people feel the hype, doesn't he? Even I who doesn't have any aspirations before becoming an absolute force and getting pretty women felt slight excitement about the prospect.
He gave all of us a thumbs-up with a bright smile, not that he ever stopped smiling of course.
"You all look great everyone! Now shall we begin your first step!?"
As All Might was giving all of us Toga's group approached me with Mina in the lead.
"Woah! You really went all in on the practicality huh Hakari-kun? I like it though, it looks really cool like you are a hitman or something!" She is scarily close to what I actually was.
"Yeah, you look really down to earth. It's really cool! Maybe I should have detailed mine more... it ended up being skintight ehe." Uraraka said while shyly scratching her head, we had met before as Toga had introduced us but hadn't talked all that much.
I shook my head.
"I think it looks perfect on you though?" I innocently said as Mina snickered while Uraraka blushed, I will not complain even the slightest bit since her outfit showed off her plentiful curves.
"Ah um, is that so? Thanks." She was easy to tease.
As we talked about our costume choices All Might clapped to gain our attention.
And then he revealed what exercise we would be doing. The same as canon.
Indoor 2 v 2 capture the flag exercise. Meant to simulate an indoor terrorist standoff kind of situation which was encountered commonly in hero work. The villains would hide their bomb in the mock 5 story building and the heroes would have to find it and touch it before 10 minutes was up.
We did not get basic training since this was the training we would be getting and for once I agreed with UA.
The best experience is on the field. Nothing better than experiencing it actively.
The class would be split into teams of 2 randomly assigned as heroes and villains. Randomly because on the field you did not to choose who had your back.
Then the teams were revealed and I quickly found my name.
Team H(Hero): Hakari Kotaro & Tsuyu Asui
Well, that ain't bad at all. I think.
She is obviously not a very strong combatant nor does she have a lot in the way of stealth like Toga but she is at least decently strong and has a lot of mobility which should come in handy for infiltration. Overall I am not complaining.
Plus, she is a cute girl, impressing her would go a long way. Some people may be disgusted by a frog girl but to them I say.
Your third eye remains closed. Enlightenment abandons your body. Your mind is bereft of wisdom.
She may not be too strong but I am here to make up for the combat factor so there is no need to worry. As long as our opponents aren't someone like Bakubrat or Hot Popsicle it won't be a problem.
But unfortunately, Lady Luck was a bipolar mistress. She will shower you with gifts one moment and then tries to cut off your balls with a pair of rusty garden shears.
All Might reached into two boxes and pulled out two spheres containing the names of those who would be fighting first.
"The first match will be between...! Team B and H!"
Team B(Villain): Kasumi Bakugou & Shoto Todoroki
Still, Bakugou and Todoroki on one team? I pity the poor bastards that have to fight against them.
Wait did he just say... H?
Team B vs Team H
Ayy dios mio....
What the fuck?
"Hell yeah! Now I get to show that smug prick his place. Hey, half half bastard don't you dare drag me down!" I could hear Bakubitch yapping while I felt a migraine visit my head.
"I don't care about your grudge. As long as you don't hinder me I won't get involved." Half Half Bastard replied calmly to the dynamite making her go off.
"The hell you say to me!? Why don't you say that to my face." How great, I am up against the two strongest in the class, both of which are either stronger than me or definitely stronger than me.
Tsuyu went to my side and I saw her pale a bit when seeing the matchups, honestly, I shared the sentiment to a lesser degree.
"Oh dear, this does not seem very good does it Hakari-kun."
...Never mind. When a cute girl talks to me about us losing and me letting her down suddenly losing does not seem looming anymore.
"Nah, don't worry about it. You got me on your team. So we at least have a chance, and if not at least you've got me to go down together with Asui-san." I flashed her a smile as Tsuyu blushed and averted her gaze
"Just call me Tsuyu Hakari-chan."
I gave her a thumbs up.
"Then don't mind if I do." She seemed pleased at that as she made a humming noise.
"Alright everyone else! Go to the monitoring room! And the villain team? You go ahead first, you have 5 minutes to prepare, use it wisely." While everyone left me and Tsuyu were left in front of the building waiting for the clock to tick down.
"What do you think we should do Hakari-kun -ribbit?" Well, my plan was rather obvious the only problem was whether Tsuyu would object.
"Well, I was thinking I could charge in like a berserker and starting beelining up the first set of the stairs and attracting their attention while you crawled across the ceiling up the second set of stairs and disarmed the bomb discreetly."
Hearing my words Tsuyu thankfully nodded.
"I can't argue against that. But are you sure you will be able to handle both of them at once Hakari-kun?" I smirked.
I "Definitely." have no idea how I am going to pull this off.
"I won't just fail like that when I have a cute girl on my team. Your presence alone boosts my powers." Hearing my words Tsuyu blushed hard but before she could say something the speakers blared.
"Alright! Time's up! The Battle Trials have officially started, go go go!"
Yes, let's do this.
'Exoskeleton'
All of a sudden a natural exoskeleton formed over my hero uniform and fit me like a glove to the surprise surprise of Tsuyu but she followed me into the building regardless as I swapped my powers.

And soon after my dangersense pinged me and I knew what was about to win, Todoroki was going for the easy victory. I quickly activated Defensive Form and at the same time picked up Tsuyu by the back of her uniform and lifted her to her confusion before suddenly a wave of frost covered every inch of the floor, walls and ceiling and even up my legs a little.
I looked at Tsuyu who I was holding by the scruff almost like a kitten as she blushed a little at having gotten caught off guard.
"Change of plans. Scale the outside of the building the best you can."
"Got it -ribbit." She quickly got my meaning and hopped outside as I took a deep breath and started sprinting, using hydrokinesis to melt the ice around me by destabilizing it before my foot touched the ground to keep my stable footing.
Chances are, they didn't bother changing the bomb's location due to their overconfidence so it's probably on the third-floor middle room. But first I would have to wrestle my way out of Bakublight and get past Fire & Ice to touch it.
Sounds tough.
But thankfully I had a feeling I would not have to seek out the first obstacle considering the loud sound of explosions that came closer to me rapidly before a hot head jumped down the stairs and landed heavily in front of me, crushing ice underfoot as she glared at me with a vicious smirk.
"Finally, I get my hands on you, you bastard! I will enjoy this!" She said as she raised one of her grenade-themed gauntlets at me.
Could I get a refund on those team matchups please?
A/N: Fate loves to mess with Hakari a lot. He thought he could be lucky enough to get Toga's approval and bag his hot hero teacher and not have the pendulum of luck swing the other way? Not here buckaroo.
The infamous Hakari luck strikes once more and now he has to defeat both Todoroki and Bakugou in a row in an enclosed space with a partner that provides no help.
