Bruno had warned the admiral about the risks of unrestricted submarine warfare, and had urged him to target military vessels, and those cargo vessels without civilian passengers on board. Rather than just any ship that traveled through the North Sea. 

These were indeed words the man would remember for the foreseeable future. And by the time the night had concluded, Bruno had made significant progress towards gaining a powerful friend within the German Admiralty.
