章節 15: REVELATION.
How did it all happen—the Darkness, the voice, the curse, my attempt to calm down, find comfort. Yet, how pleasant the feeling of comfort was, or did I make it up? And again, that annoying voice—oh yes, little demon… And the culmination of all this knowledge: I was still incorporeal. If he was a deity without a body… Noway?! Without a body? Then who was I now?
"You are a spirit," came the response.
The curtain fell—the show was over. I was a spirit. I had already been a toy, a slave, a nobody, but now I was even more unchanged than a nobody—I was a spirit.
"Come on, a spirit is not as bad as you think. On the contrary, there are a lot of advantages!"
"Like what?"
"For instance, imagine this: you can slip into anyone, zip through time and space, and even inhabit celestial beings—though I'm not sure about the gods. Oh, and spirits? They're like rare guests who are almost elusive. Neither moonlight nor daylight can catch their traces."
The voice sounded inspired, in a good mood given our situation.
"Of course, I'm pleased with what I did—to pull you out of the Abyss!" The voice continued, "If I tell anyone, they won't believe me."
Pulled out, out of the Abyss, that was what he called his swearing.
"Even though it was swearing, it helped!"
If only I knew what it helped me from, everything would be better.
"I helped you from eternal destruction, you ungrateful dog!"
No-one, spirit, dog, who else I might become… but it wasn't the exact thing I was really into right now.
"Listen, demon, deity, what ever you are, there's one thing I don't understand. Since you're a former God, demoted to a celestial being, now hanging around here and claiming that you're without a body, where did you leave it?"
"Well, how can I tell you…" he drawled.
"Just say it."
"Well, you said everything correctly—both a former God and a celestial being, and now without a body." The voice carried notes of sadness this time. "But where is my dear vessel? I don't know either…"
"What nonsense? How so? Can't be?"
"What can't be? You are also without a vessel, where did you leave yours? Hah?!"
Why hadn't I thought about that simple fact myself? He mentioned in earlier, that we both were without bodies… And as that one proclaimed me a spirit, and if so… when had I left my body and why?
"I, by the way, jumped after you, asshole, to save you, so to speak… and as a result, I got lost here with you."
Now nothing was coming together for me at all...
"What are you even talking about?"
"About jumping into the pond to save you, idiot! What is not clear here?! Who could ever know that this damned pond would turn out to be a rift between the worlds, and even right at the source of the Abyss, where you, fool, almost gone forever!"
