A few minutes shortly before Jass arrived, an enchanting fox-woman entered the classroom.
There was Cassie Dutta, a hybrid creature, with a luxuriant red tail and waist-length crimson hair.
She was standing at 5'5" with a curvaceous figure, she almost has a body compared to an hourglass vessel that is accentuated by ample breasts and shapely hips.
And at the top of her head, two vulpine ears peeked through her tresses, contrasting against her fair human skin which tell everyone she is in hybrid form.
As Cassie stepped inside, some classmates cast disdainful glances her way, while others considered her appreciatively.
This was a mixed reception stemming from recent events involving the fox and human race.
The beloved president of Asia's closest confidant had fallen victim to treachery at the hands of a fox, resulting in the leader's murdered.
This incident had soured public opinion towards foxes across the globe.
Keep in mind that In this world, there were also seven unified governments presiding over the continents: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, Australia (Oceania), and South America.
The Asian president's popularity had been universal, editing the betrayal all the more dreadful, horrific and unacceptable.
Consequently, many now decry foxes with hate and disgust.
Anyway, there is still a portion of the population who see the fallacy of generalising an entire race based on one individual's actions.
They still support fox-kind even with outstanding… prevailing animosity. Cassie, feeling the tonnages of numerous stares, lowered her gaze as she walked.
Suddenly, her path was obstructed, forcing her to look up. She found herself face-to-face with a woman flanked by two tall boys.
"Hey, traitor! How does it feel to attend a campus founded by our beloved president?"
The woman, Lily Gray, sneered with an expression of pure contempt.
She was known for her bullying tendencies, Lily seemed itching to bully those who looked as weak as chicken in her prison.
Cassie sidestepped the confrontation and tried to continue on her way. However, Lily gripped her wrist tightly, compelling her to turn back with a grimace of pain.
"What's with the attitude?"
Lily growled, furrowing her brow and tightening her grip.
The other students merely eat the watermelon as bystanders, reluctant to intervene due to Lily's family's prominent status in the Asian continent.
"Please, let me go."
Cassie requested in a quiet, frosty tone.
"Hahahaha! What bullshit did you spill out? How dare you talk back to me, you bitch."
Without hesitation, Lily let out a harsh laugh and raised her hand to strike. Before the blow could land, someone intercepted it.
"This is an educational institution, not a wrestling arena."
It was a handsome gentleman - John silk. With his striking white hair, long bangs grazing his eyebrows, chiselled features, and muscular 5 '9' frame, he captivated the entire class.
He nonchalantly brushed his hair aside in a cool gesture.
"J-John!"
Lily stammered, her face flushing with embarrassment. She averted her gaze, mumbling.
"This women ain't just provoked me, coming into my way. As a traitor, she should keep her distance which everyone in class thought. I was merely teaching her a lesson for their betrayal."
"Listen, we're classmates, not adversaries. You can't resort to violence simply because of another's actions. She's a living being too plus innocent."
John admonished. He then turned to Cassie, his eyes briefly twinkling with admiration before he concealed it.
"Miss, are you alright?"
"Are you five fools or something?"
At that moment, Jass, who had been watching the 'spicy' scene, entered the classroom with a scrowled lurking on her face.
"All right, you troublemakers, return to your seats and cease disrupting the class just like pigs."
Jass made her way to a vacant desk at the rear of the classroom, true to her nature as a back-row student who always prioritised sitting far from the front.
The four troublemakers except Cassie, though annoyed by her intervention, immediately returned to their seats.
A hushed atmosphere fell over the room as no one dared to meet Jass's gaze.
Her reputation preceded her; in high school, she had been notorious as a minor antagonist who bullied both juniors and peers alike.
Anyone who has befriend with her only risked being drawn into her chaotic wake. After bullying in juniors school, she was kicked out from her family.
Cassie, still standing, timidly approached Jass.
"May I sit here?" She asked, her eyes downcast, gesturing to the empty seat beside her.
Jass looked around the classroom, noting that no one else seemed willing to offer Cassie a place.
The seat was library type benching design and next to her was the single unoccupied spot in the classroom.
Jass's thoughts raced: 'Though I'd prefer to keep an eye on both of them, I'd rather not get involved with them. Still, I'm not so heartless as to deny her a place to sit.'
Her lips quivered slightly as she gestured for Cassie to take the seat. As the clock struck 7:00 AM, the teacher set foot in class, positioning himself at the front of the classroom.
The atmosphere shifted as the students' attention turned toward the upcoming lesson.
The female instructor bore a striking resemblance to Jass. Their eyes met, both narrowed their gaze before deliberately looking away with indifference.
'What the hell is Jessica doing here? Even if I hadn't finished whole dairy, I had read in dairy who was Jass's family. Damn, the world's gone topsy-turvy. The big sister of the so-called 'villainess' is our bloody homeroom teacher...'
The irony of the situation wasn't lost on the class.
"Attention, students." The teacher began, her tone authoritative.
"For the next three years, I'll be your homeroom instructor. IF… should anyone cause trouble for me, I won't hesitate to leverage my family's influence to make life difficult for yours."
Jessica's threat hung in the air. It is nothing but a reminder of the power dynamics at play.
While family connections couldn't be exploited within the Nexus campus, their reach extended far into the outside world.
A collective shudder ran through the room as students nodded in compliance, acutely aware of their inability to challenge her position.
The Stella family, to which Jessica and Jass, formally, belonged, held unparalleled sway across Asia, capable of financially ruining anyone within the continent on a wimp.
Jessica's expression softened into a warm smile, continued, her voice taking on a gentler tone,
"Now then, let's begin with introductions. I'm Jessica Stella. We'll give our intro row by row, starting from the front. Please, introduce yourselves."
As introductions progressed, students nervously shared their names.
"I'm Winny! Pleased to meet you all."
"...Name's Pinci. Hope we can be friends." The other student mumbled with confidence.
'Bruhh! Old cliche of novels. I hate this shit to death.'
Jass dozed off until Cassie's introduction, hearing the surname Pendragon.
"Next!" Jessica barked coldly.
Jass stretched lazily, waving her hand dismissively.
"What's the damn point of this name game? Everyone already knows who I am. Why the hell should I bother?"
"Student, we're not here for your excuses. Speak up or else get out of my class."
Jessica snapped out with loathe.
"Fine. Name's Jass. My claim to fame?"
Jass stood, her face contorted with a beautiful smile, seeing the reaction and straightening her index finger up.
"I fuck and beat up anyone who gets on my nerves. So think of this as fair warning: even this asshole of a school won't save your ass if you provoke me."
"Try to create trouble for me, I dare you... I'll personally end you, you little brat!"
Jessica's face darkened as she issued the warning, her voice filled with venom.
"As if I'd dare, fufufu~~" Jass replied with a not caring shrug.
"But who knows what the future holds? Only time will tell."
She settled back into her seat, punctuating her words with a soft, melodious giggle which was very beautiful in the eyes of boys and girls.
To some, it was as if a demon queen was laughing at mere insects.
Their bodies quaked at the sound of her sinister mirth. Even Cassie couldn't suppress a tremble.
Jass shook her head, noticed the diverse array of races represented among her classmates, each reacting differently to the tense exchange between the sisters.
Jessica exhaled deeply, her frustration solid.
"Everyone, please come forward to collect your roll number and identification card. From this point onward, you'll be residing in the dormitories. Each room will accommodate four students with same gender, so you'll be living with your peers."
The idea of sharing quarters with classmates brought a mix of excitement and apprehension, particularly given the diverse personalities already on display.
The students began to retrieve from their seats to collect their documents, hushed whispers filled the air.
Some speculated about potential roommates, while others wondered about the layout and amenities of their future living spaces.
'Roll number 7, with the same room number and building, huh! Not bad at all,'
Jass thought it a fortuitous coincidence.
The day had been appointed to give data to students about schedules and various normal formalities.
As the first hour drew to a close, students began dispersing across the campus, each heading in different directions.
Jass on the other side was standing in the campus office, face-to-face with Jessica, who sat down on the chair.
"What do you want?" Jass's tone was curt.
Jessica hesitated for a moment before responding, her voice uncharacteristically very serious like world war is about to start.
"... Let's talk... about the past."
"We have nothing to talk about!"
Unlike in class, Jessica was very sad and confounded.
"Huh! What did you said."
"I mean, Nothing means nothing. I don't have memories of you, mother or anyone. I have… amnesia."
