章節 45: Mana Nexus Chamber
"Then, how much can you offer?" Heizen asked after seeing that the man had understood its rarity.
"Are you sure you want to sell this? It is a very rare material you know?" The manager looked up and asked with good intentions.
He wasn't kidding. In this small town, any item related to above level 20 was a rarity. Level 20 was considered a watershed between a beginner and a true practitioner.
Of course, this wasn't something valuable to the Ford Chamber of Commerce, which had branches all around the FrostWind Continent.
But the area dictates the price. If you sold something precious at a backward place, you couldn't get its true value no matter what.
"I am sure." Heizen nodded. He had already talked with his friends. Since we needed to share the loot, he couldn't just withhold the treasure. They did ask him to take it but he denied it.
"Okay then. We currently have no treasure to replace it. So, we can only offer mana crystals. Since you come here for the first time, I will give you 5000 mana crystals for this. Along with all the remaining things, the total will be 6000, what do you think?"
The manager spoke calmly after analyzing all the goods. He was used to doing business so he knew the value of everything. He even increased the price of miscellaneous goods to sell favor.
Heizen thought for a while and nodded with a smile. The price was beyond what he thought, so he didn't haggle much. Moreover, he had no idea how to do so.
Seeing him agree, the manager swept all the items into his ring with a flick of his hand and gave him a simple mana ring with all the mana crystals.
"My name is Henry. I am the manager of this branch. You can come to me if you need anything in the future."
After a successful transaction, Henry smiled and introduced himself.
Heizen also shook his hand and said, "I am Heizen. I do need your help. Do you have a strong weapon for sale? It can be a blade or a short sword. I also need a cloth-type armor if you have one."
He was thinking of purchasing a durable weapon this time. Not a single weapon he purchased survived the fight.
"Hmm, you are already at level 14. Since you can take out a treasure like Obsidian Heart, you must have no issue leveling up." Henry first analyzed him and then said,
"I am afraid you can no longer use a common weapon. They aren't durable and break at the critical moment. So, I suggest you buy a rare weapon." After saying this, he showed a bitter smile.
"However, there are no rare blades or short swords available in our store. Generally, we sell those things at an auction."
Hearing this, Heizen was disappointed. However, he still tried to ask.
"How about uncommon weapons?"
"Uncommon weapons are as the name says 'uncommon.' They aren't necessarily better than common goods. The reason they are better is because of the special effects. And finding uncommon weapons is quite hard."
Henry shook his head. But seeing that Heizen was depressed, he thought for a while and finally took out a black token from his ring.
"There is an auction at the Black Market tonight. You may find what you want there but it may cost you more. You can take this token to enter that auction."
"Thank you!" Heizen accepted the dark token that was inscribed with the words: Eclipse House.
He was truly grateful for his help. Next time, he got something good, he would share it with his brother; with money of course.
"Don't forget to purchase a disguise robe and mask before going there. It is not a good place, you know. Okay, I have other things to do, let's say goodbye." Henry said and went outside hurriedly. He seemed very busy.
Heizen also came outside and purchased a dark robe and mask that could hide his figure. Since the manager had warned him, he should be careful. He would separate from Bernard and Bowen before going to the auction house.
After leaving the Ford Chamber of Commerce, Heizen strolled around for an hour but didn't find anything useful. So, he returned to the academy.
Today, he had no plan for going outside. So, he was thinking of trying the breathing method. He hadn't tried practicing after joining the mage academy.
The Sirus Academy had a separate place suitable for students to practice. It was called: Mana Nexus Chamber.
The student needed to pay 10 mana crystals or 1 contribution point for one hour. So damn expensive. He had no contribution points since he hadn't completed any mission yet.
Furthermore, despite his 3-star potential, no one accepted him as an apprentice because it was a Life affinity.
But now that he was rich, he was ready to try it. Killing monsters to level up was too risky and uncertain.
When Heizen arrived at the mission hall, the sun was already high in the sky. The Mana Nexus Chamber was on the right side of the Mission hall. Multiple separate rooms were empty at this moment.
Heizen first paid 60 mana crystals at the counter and registered for 6 hours. After that, he arrived at the assigned room and opened the door with his Nexus.
After entering and closing the door, he looked at the room. Well, there was nothing except for a futon and multiple runes engraved on the ground. The runes must be part of the mana-gathering array.
Heizen composed himself, sat on the futon, and slowly steadied his breathing. The breathing method given by the academy wasn't complex. It was a simple method which could be used by anyone.
He heard that there were more advanced breathing methods in the Mana Archive that you could buy with contribution points. But that was for after he entered the Tier 1. For now, this was enough.
So, he slowly entered the state and forgot about his surroundings while the mana around the room began to enter his body.
