After that, Giyu led nezuko and tanjiro to his master and at the same time wrote a letter himself, telling his master about them.
The strange thing in Yuto's opinion was that his offer had been accepted by Giyu.
When Yuto saw that Giyu was about to go on his way to do his own mission, he desperately told him that he wanted to escort Tanjiro and nezuko to the narrow misty mountain.
In his guess, the mountain where Tomioka lived must have been at least a couple of weeks' travel time away from the mountain where Tanjiro's family lived. But after arriving here, he realized that the distance between the two mountains was less than a day's walk.
If Muzan had preferred to run instead of walk, he probably would have spent an extra half an hour after slaughtering Tanjiro's family, if he wanted to slaughter another old hashira. In short, Muzan was right under their noses and none of them knew it.
Yuto smiled awkwardly, thinking about what he would sell this valuable information to the kagaya for.
"Yuto-nisan, we should be able to leave soon. The sun is almost setting."
Awakened from his thoughts by Tanjiro's voice, Yuto mumbled in a voice that Tanjiro couldn't hear: "Ah, that's right, I'm doing a challenge with Tanjiro to go a day's ride in a week.
Yuto initially wanted tanjiro to discover on his own the idea of carrying Nezuko on his back in a Basket, but he doesn't care anymore.
Besides, it's been 2 days since they left.
Of course that's not a problem for Yuto. Only they're limited for time.
"Tanjiro can you two wait here for a while?"
"Okay Yuto-nisan, and thank you for escorting us every day."
At Tanjiro's words, Yuto straightened his knees from a sitting position to a walking position and started walking like a little boy who decided to become a ninja so that he wouldn't hit his head on the ceiling in a 1 meter cave.
Yuto was a little disappointed that Tanjiro looked like a child who had just entered the developmental stage.
He thought about it, but of course didn't say it.
.
.
.
"Okay, it's harder than I thought." Yuto muttered as he lowered his head to look at the tangled wicker leaves in his hands.
Until just now, Yuto had thought that making a wicker basket was something that even a simple child could do easily. Actually, he wasn't wrong, even a simple child could make a wicker basket, but the important thing was that he had to know how to do it in detail.
As Yuto got up from the ground, he threw the failed attempt between his hands, wrinkled from anemia, into a bush a few meters away.
Then he turned his head to look at the cave entrance a few tens of meters behind him and shouted.
"Tanjiro! Come here!"
A few seconds after Yuto shouted, Tanjiro came out of the mouth of the cave first, followed by Nezuko, who came holding his hand.
Yuto gave Tanjiro the wicker leaves he had collected to make a wicker basket.
Yuto thought the straw leaves would be enough to make a wicker basket until he saw Tanjiro take a small knife out of his pocket and start cutting grass from the ground.
Tanjiro had pulled wild grass out from under the snow and tested it for strength, then used it to bind the straw leaves together. Yuto, on the other hand, had so far used other ready-made leaves to bind the wicker leaves together.
Tanjiro then said that some of the straw leaves Yuto had given him were drier than he needed, so he dipped them into the snow and began to knead them with the snow until they were soft enough.
Yuto tried to pretend that nothing was happening as he looked at the process, which seemed much more complicated than what he was doing. And the wrinkles on his face, which had begun to age over time due to anemia, helped to hide his expression.
------
After tanjiro made the wicker basket, he and Yuto continued their journey together. What Yuto didn't realize was that he was to blame for the journey taking so long.
He was traveling on a completely different path because he thought it was similar to the one he had taken on the way here. And if they don't correct their course in a few hours, they will start to get further and further away from their destination.
Meanwhile, Tanjiro held his little sister's hand and followed her, doubting whether the man in front of him was trustworthy. By chance, nezuko turned her head and saw something thrown into the bushes.
When Tanjiro saw his sister looking in a certain direction, he too turned his head to look in that direction and immediately realized what it was.
When Tanjiro realized that Yuto had been working on making a wicker basket for them while they waited inside the cave, he felt guilty for being suspicious of the man until now.
With Tanjiro's personality on the line, he did not hesitate to bow 90 degrees and apologize loudly.
Meanwhile, the clueless Yuto smiled back at him, but inwardly he thought the little boy had lost his mind after being confronted with the bloody sight of his family's corpses. Of course, having watched a bit of the anime, he was reassured that he would recover soon enough.
---------
As they continued to walk, a man standing at the top of a tall tree watched them, the veins in his face bulging with anger.
