章節 7: Chapter 7

Felix was thinking. He woke up at around 6 AM and just couldn't go back to sleep. Maybe it's because he wasn't familiar with the bed. Not that he wanted to be familiar with the bed or place.

He'd come down to have dinner at night. Psalm was such a nice host before that, showing him his studio and answering the few questions he'd asked. They'd gone to his room but didn't stay long because Felix claimed to want to see other things–in truth, he was just nervous about being in the same room as the guy he was attracted to.

Psalm's mother was so sweet, in every way. She was quite chatty which wasn't a trait Psalm seemed to have gotten from her. She'd wanted him to call her by her name, but Felix vehemently refused. No way on earth was he calling someone who was older than him by more than a decade her name. Of course, it didn't take long before he gave in to her pleas and did as she said. Psalm watched their interaction silently and with amusement.

The three of them were the only ones at the dining and so they ate and talked about all that they could. Psalm's music was brought up a few times and Felix was pleased to see how supportive his mom was. He'd assumed that rich kids were usually meant to take over the father's companies and all, or maybe it's because he's not the first born. Because Felix definitely is one and he knew the shit he'd been through because of that fact. It would've been a bit better if he were rich though.

He stood up from the bed and went to brush his teeth, deciding that he had nothing important to do, especially since his eyes refused to close again.

Getting into the pretty bathroom, he paused as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. Felix has never been the type of person to stop and stare at himself in the mirror, mostly because he wasn't used to it… Seriously, he just didn't know what he was supposed to be looking at, and why he was looking at it. He'd dressed like a normal person when the time called for it, whenever it had to do with school…they had a standard uniform and he wore it. He barely went anywhere. He's always clean and shaved when necessary and that was it. That nonchalance of his concerning his dressing always annoyed Ada whenever she visited him, either at school or at home. She'd tried her best, but he wouldn't budge.

Taking out the new brush and putting the toothpaste on it, Felix took to his teeth. He'd wanted to get braces, but he'd have to manage till he could afford it for himself first. That would be after succeeding in his academics, got a new job and made cool cash though. Hopefully his plans would work out smoothly. Maybe he'd also try to upgrade his dressing to please Ada.

While still brushing, he looked at his hair. He'd wanted to go bald but everyone had screamed at him to leave it alone. They said they liked the hair on his head and that it made him look good. He wasn't trying to look good though, but he'd let it go. His mind then was on how to save money by having no head hair.

"Damn," he muttered the moment he realized that all that was on his mind really was all about money, money, money.

He sighed a bit in sadness as he continued brushing. He was a guest at a friend's house, so he should enjoy it while it lasts. Whenever he gets back to his lodge, he'd allow himself to think deeply and be depressed.

It was the weekend. Felix really hadn't been keeping track of the time since all he'd been doing was eat, sleep and read. He decided to go look for Psalm then, maybe to talk? He'd noticed that they both weren't really talkers, with Psalm being the worst of them. He only spoke when he wanted to and was all about music.

"Tomorrow's Sunday," he started while walking into Psalm's studio.

"So?"

Psalm was busy with something on his keyboard, eyes not focused on his guest.

Admiring the beauty of the studio, Felix responded. "So are you going to church?"

This time around, Psalm raised his head to look at him. But Felix's eyes were on the various instruments, the room designs and everything. It was dark despite it being daytime, because the blinds were closed. But the bulbs gave the room a cool look with the mixture of darker and lighter colored paintings on the walls.

"You have so many instruments," Felix suddenly said.

"Thanks. Aren't you interested in my answer?"

Felix turned around to stare at Psalm. "What answer?" He asked.

Psalm's brows furrowed in confusion and his face showed a hint of amusement too as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Didn't you ask me if I was going to church on Sunday just a few seconds ago?"

Felix gasped. "Oh, wow. I'm sorry! I'm really sorry, I kind of just didn't bother with the question when I looked at your instruments."

Psalm chuckled. "You're funny."

Felix still felt a bit embarrassed, but he tried to keep it cool. "So are you going to answer me now?"

Psalm raised a brow. "Oh, so now you want my answer."

"Just tell me."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

Felix frowned. "You're so fucking annoying."

"Annoying because I don't want to go to church?"

"Huh?"

Felix was about to storm out when he heard Psalm's words. His host looked a bit confused.

"What do you mean?" Felix asked. "I thought you were refusing to give me an answer. You said no."

Psalm responded, "You told me to tell you, and so I said no. No, meaning that I'm not going to church tomorrow. Because I don't want to."

"Oh."

Fuck, he was just about to leave in annoyance because of some simple misunderstanding. And he thought Psalm was being rude!

"Again; you're funny," Psalm said.

Felix rolled his eyes, turning to the door. "I'm leaving."

He was the one at fault for not specifying anything, leaving him confused. What was even the point of their conversation? The guy seemed busy with something anyway, when he wasn't anymore they could talk. Might as well go outside or something. If he bumps into Psalm's mother, then all the better. He needed to know his way around.

Within a few minutes, he was bored. Psalm's mother wasn't around and Felix didn't want to interact with anyone else. Because he was hungry, he went to the fridge–took him a while to find it–to get something. There was no one to serve him and he'd been given permission to eat whatever he wanted. He'd have refused like the polite boy that he was, but his stomach had other ideas.

Basically, his day was amazing. Well, to him. There was free WiFi and free food and silence as he stayed in the guest room all day. That all changed when Psalm's mother came back from wherever she went. She was appalled at the state of him and her son. How could they stay separately and not talk to each other?! Time to go out together.

Felix had planned to call Ada on the phone and show her around. She was quite excited that he'd gone out of his room for the first time since their break. They'd only been texting because Ada, like the social butterfly that she was, went out to hangout with whoever was available. Just when he was about to relax and take a nap before calling his friend, he was now forced to leave his new found safe haven.

Wonderful.
