章節 20: Blacksmith

The moon cast its ethereal glow over the peaceful village, its soft light veiling the hidden intentions of those who dwelled within. The night was still, save for the hushed whispers of villagers as they prepared for the coming dawn. Unbeknownst to them, a shadow stirred in their midst, weaving a delicate tapestry of secrecy.

Silent as a wisp of smoke, I moved through the village, my presence concealed by the shroud of darkness. My demonic form concealed, I observed the villagers with a keen eye, searching for the signs that would guide my next move.

As I prowled through the village, my gaze swept across the humble abodes that dotted the landscape. Each dwelling held its own story, its own secrets nestled within its walls. The moon's luminescence washed over the rooftops, casting elongated shadows that danced on the cobblestone streets.

Suddenly, there, amidst the rows of cottages, I noticed a sturdy building, its chimneys puffing lazy plumes of smoke into the night sky. The blacksmith's forge.

Tap... Tap...

With cautious steps, I approached the structure, my footfalls barely disturbing the thick layer of dust that blanketed the ground. The rhythmic clang of metal meeting metal echoed from within, a symphony of creation and craftsmanship. I peered through a small, grimy window, revealing a dimly lit interior alive with flickering flames.

Inside, bathed in the glow of the forge's fire, stood the blacksmith. He was a formidable figure, his muscles rippling beneath the grime that adorned his arms. Sweat glistened on his brow as he toiled, his weathered hands coaxing life from the molten metal before him.

I marveled at the intricate dance between man and element, the sheer artistry embedded in each swing of his hammer. It was in these moments, amidst the heat and the hammer's song, that I sensed an opportunity.

Clank... Clank...

Drawing closer, I slipped through the partially ajar door, careful not to disrupt the delicate balance of the blacksmith's focus. My presence remained concealed, the shadows embracing my demonic form. I watched as he deftly manipulated the red-hot steel, shaping it with practiced precision.

The rhythmic symphony of the forge carried on, drowning out the whispers of the night outside. The blacksmith's brow furrowed in concentration, his hands moving with a grace that belied their strength. I knew I had found the one who could help me, the one who possessed the skill to fashion the instrument of my desires.

"..."

I felt the strange essence within me churn and vibrate, forcing my body to twist and contort as my bones cracked and shifted.

Crack...

Hearing something behind him, the blacksmith paused his work and turned, his eyes scanning the dimly lit forge.

However, before he could react, I extended my arm toward him, my claws glinting near his throat.

"..Wen..Digo!"

The man stuttered in fear, his voice trembling in fear as he recognized the menacing figure before him.

The blacksmith's eyes widened in terror as he stumbled backward, his body attempting to escape the threat before him. With a desperate burst of adrenaline, he turned and sprinted towards the forge's entrance, his heavy boots thudding against the ground.

But my agility surpassed his speed. In a flash, I lunged forward, my claws extending with deadly precision. With one swift movement, I closed the gap between us, pinning the blacksmith to the ground, his body writhing beneath my weight.

Grrr...

A low, guttural growl escaped my lips, resonating with a primal force that echoed through the air. It reverberated with the weight of impending doom, an unmistakable warning to anyone who dared challenge my dominion.

The blacksmith trembled beneath me, his fear palpable as he struggled futilely against my grip. His attempts to free himself only deepened the grooves of my claws into his flesh, a reminder of his helplessness. The scent of his fear mingled with the metallic tang of hot iron and sweat, saturating the forge's air.

"I ne...ed a.. wea...pon hu-man..."

I tried to speak but my voice came out as a menacing growl, barely recognizable as human speech.

Although I didn't want to do any of this, I had no choice but to force the blacksmith into submission.

There was no way he'd give it to the Demon and probably would rather kill himself.

If only you knew my goals are to defend this village...

I gazed into the blacksmith's terrified eyes, my voice filled with a mixture of frustration and anger.

"G-et to w...ork!"

The blacksmith, his body trembling, nodded with wide-eyed fear. He understood the gravity of the situation, realizing that his fate was inexorably intertwined with the demands of this mysterious, demonic figure before him. He knew that resistance would be futile, that his only chance for survival lay in compliance.

With a trembling hand, the blacksmith rose from the ground, his body still weak from the ordeal. He glanced around the dimly lit forge, his eyes settling on the assortment of tools that lined the walls.

Taking a deep breath, the blacksmith gathered his resolve. He knew that he had honed his craft for years, perfecting the art of metalworking. And now, he would be forced to channel that skill into something far more sinister.

He reached for a large, sturdy piece of metal, feeling its weight in his grasp. The rhythmic clanging of the hammer echoed in the stillness of the night as he placed the red-hot steel on the anvil. Sweat trickled down his brow, mixing with the soot and grime that adorned his face.

Clank... Clank...

With each strike of the hammer, the blacksmith's fear and apprehension transformed into determination. He focused on his craft, his mind shutting out the horrors of the situation, immersing himself in the familiar rhythm of his trade. The sound of metal meeting metal filled the forge, drowning out the silence that enveloped the village.

As the blacksmith worked, his hands moved with practiced precision, guiding the metal into shape.

I, on the other hand, watched him while baring my teeth. It wasn't that I wanted to do that, but I had no other choice.

This body wanted to eat...
