The weekend dragged on painfully slow and boring for Alina. She could hardly wait for Monday to come, eager to return to school and see where she stood with Marcus.
Finally, the weekend ended, and it was back to school. As she walked through the school gates, anticipation mixed with nervousness, but her heart sank when she didn't see Marcus or any of his friends around.
Throughout the day, Alina guessed Marcus was too excited about Sasha's return, probably spending the weekend with her and skipping school.
During lunch, Lizzy approached her. "Hey, have you heard from Marcus?" she asked, her tone curious and concerned.
Alina shook her head. "No, I haven't. He hasn't bothered to contact me since we last saw each other," she confessed, her disappointment evident.
Just then, Evan approached, interrupting their conversation. "Hi girls," he greeted, smiling. "How was your weekend?"
