The loud thud that reverberated through the room was an expected one. After all, Kael Dragomir had thoroughly manipulated and unsettled Serphina's mind. It was only natural for her to beg on her knees by now.

"Anything! I beg of you, I'm at your feet, Your Grace! Save me! You're my only hope!"

"Hm… Well, I suppose I can ensure nothing leaks, and even if it does… I can manage to protect my sister's innocent friend and Lady-in-waiting."

"Yes! Yes, Your Grace! And in return, I promise to do everything in my power to secure the first princess's ascension to the throne!"

"No more of that." He said coldly. "You must do the opposite. Your father leads the noble faction supporting Isolde; if he withdraws, the others will follow suit. Do you understand?"

Understand? Her sanity must be on the brink of snapping!
