At this moment, Arthur wasn't heading towards Thor. After using his ability Blinks a
few times, he landed on a rooftop and gazed at the distant wilderness.
"The Destroyer will arrive on the battlefield in 30 seconds..." Arthur murmured,
surprised at how calm he felt inside.
The Destroyer was undoubtedly powerful, capable of firing various destructive beams
and seemingly possessing endless energy reserves. Its body was forged from an
unknown metal, making it impervious to weapons, while its attacks were brutally
lethal.
Faced with such an opponent, Arthur knew he 'should' be tense, but for some reason,
he simply couldn't muster any anxiety.
Humming a soft, unfamiliar tune, Arthur watched as the clouds nearby began swirling
into a vortex, signaling the arrival of something immensely powerful.
The mist dispersed, and fierce winds suddenly swept the area, radiating out from the
epicenter of this force.
Arthur's eyes narrowed, and without regard for the distance, he saw the Destroyer
itself.
"It's here!"
Scanning his surroundings, Arthur noticed that the two agents from the previous night
were also positioned on a nearby rooftop, observing the situation in the distance.
After a brief thought, Arthur retrieved his phone from his Disassembler space. Two
messages from Lily awaited him.
The first: "Die, Die, Die!"
The second: "Hmph, when are you coming back? I'm off in a few days and I'll paint you
another picture when I return."
Arthur chuckled and replied, "I'll be away for a couple more days so I probably won't be
back during this time."
Tucking the phone back into his Disassembler Space, Arthur crossed his legs and sat on
the rooftop, lightly tapping his fingers.
Looking down at the ground, he saw that Thor and his companions had also spotted
the Destroyer's arrival and were beginning to evacuate the townspeople.
Surprisingly, the civilians listened to them without question. Thor and his team weren't
police or military, but when they ordered the evacuation, the townspeople complied.
Just as half the people had been evacuated, the Destroyer arrived.
A fire beam shot from its face, obliterating everything in its path.
Thor's group of four decided to face it head-on... and Arthur watched as they were
promptly sent flying in all direction.
With each strike, it was clear that the Destroyer was no ordinary foe. Its entire body
could reassemble at will, and it was utterly indestructible.
And that was just the visible part. Who knew what other hidden powers it held?
Arthur squinted as he watched Thor approach the Destroyer and say something to it. In
response, the Destroyer swatted Thor away, sending him flying.
At that moment, Arthur sharpened his focus, his breath becoming even more calm.
"This is the turning point," He silently thought to himself.
No sooner had the thought crossed his mind than the Destroyer, having already
knocked Thor to the ground, suddenly turned its head. A fire beam shot straight toward
Arthur.
"As expected!"
Arthur smirked coldly, not at all surprised. Just as the beam was about to hit him, he
vanished from the spot in a blink.
Reappearing moments later, Arthur's gaze was as calm as the deep sea, and a faint
smile played on his lips.
"Come on, it's game time..."
Arthur leaped, pressing a hand to his chest. In an instant, a black uniform, peaked cap,
and black mask appeared on his body.
As he landed, a thought summoned his trusty mech, 'Abomination', which crashed to
the ground with a thunderous roar. In a flash, Arthur appeared on 'Abomination's'
shoulder. The muscle-clad mech charged forward, shaking the entire street.
Once again, the Destroyer unleashed a beam of destructive energy, aimed directly at
the 'Abomination'.
Arthur simply grinned, patting 'Abomination' on the head, and instantly disappeared,
and Arthur reappeared five meters above as if he was walking on air. With a few more
Blinks, he was right in front of the Destroyer.
As Arthur flipped through the air and landed, the Destroyer's fist came hurtling toward
him. But just then, a roar erupted from above the Destroyer.
'Abomination', with a ferocious bellow, dropped down from the sky, slamming its
massive bulk onto the Destroyer's body.
Even the Destroyer was momentarily dazed by the impact, but it wasn't over yet.
'Abomination' grabbed the Destroyer's shoulders with both hands, yanked hard, and
threw it with incredible force.
The massive Destroyer spun through the air and was sent flying sideway
Arthur, gripping his guns in both hands, unleashed a relentless barrage of energy shots,
keeping the Destroyer suspended mid-air, unable to land.
…
…
In less than ten seconds since Arthur had made his entrance, the onlookers were
already dumbfounded.
"Is he with you guys?" Selvig was stunned and he couldn't help but ask in a low voice.
"No… he's human…"
The four Asgardians had seen Arthur before during the battle in Jotunheim, where he
had clearly stated that he was human, from Earth.
But now, this Earthling's performance was nothing short of extraordinary. If the entire
planet was full of people like him, wouldn't that make things awkward for the Gods like
them?
As they stood in their daze, a whistling sound suddenly filled the air, and a black dot in
the distance rapidly approached, carried by strong winds.
At the same time, Arthur realized that his energy shots weren't having much of an
effect. The Destroyer's body, forged from some unknown metal, was far too resistant to
bullets.
Even when infused with colorless energy, they couldn't deal significant damage to the
Destroyer.
With a quick thought, Arthur stowed his guns and pulled out a large two-handed
sword from his Disassembler Space. But before he could act, a sudden crack of thunder
exploded behind him. He turned to see bolts of lightning scattering in every direction.
The 'Eye of Horus' hovered in the air as the Destroyer's face unleashed a white beam of
light, heading straight for Arthur.
"Steel-boned body!"
Arthur's expression shifted. In an instant, his entire body was reinforced with steel-like
durability. But the powerful blast hit him head-on, sending him flying ten meters away.
"Dammit!"
Climbing to his feet, Arthur's face darkened. That single hit had drained a significant
amount of his colorless energy!
Without hesitation, he grabbed the nearest car, his fingers piercing through the metal
like steel claws, gripping the frame tightly.
With a burst of strength, he hoisted the car into the air with one hand, tossing it at the
Destroyer as if it were a mere stone.
Meanwhile, 'Abomination' charged in, leaping into the air to catch the flying car. With a
violent downward smash, 'Abomination' aimed it at the Destroyer.
The Destroyer turned its head, redirecting its beam towards the car.
Boom!
With a deafening explosion, the car was blown apart, split in two as the beam tore
through it.
'Abomination' quickly dodged the Destroyer's attack, narrowly avoiding the beam.
Holding a piece of the car in each hand, 'Abomination' swung them like giant axes,
relentlessly smashing them down on the Destroyer.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
A series of heavy blows echoed as the Destroyer was pounded into the ground. The car
remnants in 'Abomination's' hands shattered into flying debris.
In the next instant, 'Abomination' stepped forward, planting a foot on the Destroyer's
head. Grabbing one of its arms before he began pulling with all its might, trying to rip it
off!
