Joshua watched from a distance as Mia and Claire exchanged words near the building's entrance.

He couldn't hear what was being said, but the body language spoke volumes. Mia had a smirk playing on her lips, while Claire's expression hardened with every passing second. 

Claire's sharp gesture as she pulled her arm away from Mia was the final straw. She turned on her heel and walked out of the building without even a glance in his direction.

Joshua's heart twisted painfully as he watched her retreating figure. He wanted to run after her, to explain everything, but his feet felt like they were glued to the ground.

Mia, on the other hand, stood there with a satisfied smile, clearly pleased with herself. Joshua felt a surge of anger.

He couldn't believe he had let things spiral so far out of control. He marched over to Mia, the fury boiling inside him barely contained.
