章節 88: Apology or Threat?

Stephanie paused and narrowed her eyes a little as she looked at Claire's face. She changed her tone from sorry to chilly as she said, "Well... you know that Joshua has made it clear that this project has to succeed no matter what." 

At this point, Claire realised that Stephanie wasn't really trying to say sorry; she was just being nice. Who did she want to show all of that to, though? 

With a haughty look on his face, Stephanie said, "And he expects us all to do whatever it takes to make that happen."

Claire got a chill up her spine. Stephanie didn't seem to be the same person she was when she apologised earlier. Stephanie looked at her like she was planning her next move. It got worse for Claire, so she tightened her grip on the towel around her shoulders.

"Whatever it takes?" Claire echoed, her voice sharp. "Are you saying this was all just... business?"
