"Busy?" I responded, "Claire," and her voice was haughty. "That's one way to put it."

Her dad's eyes got really angry. "Claire, you've always had a way with words. "But this is a new low, even for you."

Claire finally lost her cool. "A new low?" Father, you tried to kill me! "How could you go down even more?"

Her father's face turned cold. "You have no idea what you're talking about."

"Oh, I know exactly what I'm talking about," Claire shot back, her voice rising. "Elvis found out everything. You were behind the accident. You wanted me out of the picture to take control of the company. How could you? I'm your kid!"

"Enough!" her father hissed, looking around to see if anyone was watching. "This isn't the place for such wild accusations."

"Why not? Are you afraid someone might hear the truth?" Claire's voice trembled with anger. "You never cared about me or anyone else. All you ever wanted was power and control."
