章節 70: He Didn't Come

In the hospital, Claire spent her days waiting for Joshua. Every hour, she hoped that he would walk through the door. But even after many days he wasn't seen. 

She tried to focus on getting better even though the pain of not having him was almost as bad as the pain of her injuries.

~After One week and Four days in hospital:

The day finally came when Claire could leave the hospital. Trevor was there to take her home. He looked like he was both happy and worried.

"Are you ready to go home, Claire?" The man asked softly.

Claire nodded, trying to muster a smile. "Yes, I'm ready."

Trevor helped her get into the car, and they were quiet as they drove back to the house. Claire felt a wave of feelings hit her as they pulled into the driveway. The house, once a place of comfort, now felt strange and empty without Joshua.
