Hades walked with a calm demeanor. When he arrived at the Dark Realm once again, Erebos and Nyx, the loving couple of Ancient Gods, were already quietly waiting for him.
"Hades!" Nyx smiled warmly, "You succeeded, reclaiming your Underworld King origin without using the Lament of the Gods."
Hades responded calmly, "Luck."
Luck!
Yes!
This success was largely due to luck. He obtained the information about the World Chains from the two Ancient Gods, found the Golden Apple, and his Titan God-King father, due to arrogance and pride, overlooked his technique.
All these factors combined to determine the outcome: his father lost, and lost miserably. That was the only result.
As for everything else? In a sense, it wasn't important. A defeat is a defeat. On the battlefield, there are no familial ties, and a loss is a loss; there is nothing more to say.
However, from any perspective, it must be acknowledged that Hades' victory in this war was indeed largely due to luck. Otherwise, he would have needed to use the Lament of the Gods.
Some things, if they can be preserved instead of exhausted, make a huge difference, especially something as mysterious as the Lament of the Gods, a divine artifact usable against Ancient Gods. Keeping it is extremely important.
Of course, to the two Ancient Gods, this wasn't merely luck. Battle inherently involves more than luck. Is it really that simple and easy?
A few words cannot explain everything. If luck alone could explain it, what about Hades' years of effort and the countless near-death experiences in the Sea of Chaos? Can that all be attributed to luck?
Clearly!
It wasn't just luck, nor could it be. But these matters require no further discussion. A win is a win; there is nothing more to say.
Erebos thought for a moment and said, "Hades, you can give us the Lament of the Gods. We can enhance it for you."
"Alright."
Hades quietly handed over the Lament of the Gods to Erebos. Erebos and Nyx, who had been calm, suddenly became serious. The couple exchanged a solemn look and nodded earnestly.
Immediately.
The laws of Darkness and Night surged, enveloping the Lament of the Gods. Under the boundless laws, it seemed to undergo a fundamental transformation. When everything settled, the Lament of the Gods looked unchanged, but in essence, it was entirely different.
Erebos handed the Lament of the Gods back to Hades, saying seriously, "Hades, the enhancement is complete. Now it is the true Lament of the Gods."
Hades accepted the Lament of the Gods, saying nothing more, but he could sense its fundamental transformation.
The Lament of the Gods was already special. After the enhancement by this Ancient God couple, it was entirely different, now truly deserving its name: the true Lament of the Gods.
True Lament of the Gods!
After Hades put away the Lament of the Gods, Nyx softly said, "Hades, you have probably guessed the essence of the Ancient Gods by now, haven't you?"
"I have a rough idea," Hades nodded quietly, "The essence of the Ancient Gods is similar to ours. Every god, from their birth, serves the mythological world. Their fate is fixed. Even we, favored by the mythological world, are no different."
"Exactly!" Nyx nodded, "As Ancient Gods, representing certain essences of the mythological world, we have been unable to detach from it since our birth. But who wants to remain bound forever?"
"…"
Erebos and Nyx fell silent with these words, and Hades also remained silent. The reason was simple. For any god, who would want to be forever trapped in such stillness?
Who would want to remain confined forever? No one! Even humans strive to break free from their predetermined lives, let alone gods.
Erebos and Nyx, the Ancient God couple, exchanged a glance. Nyx continued, "In this situation, the Ancient Gods have only two paths to success."
"First, destroy the entire mythological world, returning it to its original state, and in the process, we detach from it."
"Second, as Ancient Gods, break the shackles and become Absolute Gods. That would naturally end everything, and this is the simplest way."
"Third, choose a god who has the potential to break free and attach ourselves to them. When they break the shackles, everything becomes simple."
Nyx's explanation was clear and straightforward, revealing to Hades the reasons behind it all. Of course, Hades had already guessed most of it.
Hades thought for a moment and said, "Erebos, Nyx, even if you attach yourselves to a God-King, you will still be bound."
"Yes!" Erebos sighed, "In theory, that's true. But essentially, we would have detached from the mythological world. We would have broken free from our fated destinies. That is what truly matters!"
Erebos' eyes held a touch of melancholy. Yes, even if they served a new master, their destiny would no longer be predetermined. They would have their own choices.
Now?!
Hehe~~~

Those who understand will understand!
Sorry, I'm still not in the best state. I'll try to maintain stability. My mindset needs to stabilize a bit.
