Alice was lost in thought when Alex Carter released her waist and walked up to Ethan Blackwood. Alex's gentle face held a faint indifference in his eyes. "Mr. Blackwood, please speak with more respect."

The two young men stood confrontationally, neither tall nor straight-backed. One was arrogant, the other gentle—a stark difference, yet there was no sign of winning or losing in momentum.

Looking at Alex in front of him, Ethan sneered. "Respect? I thought you stopped me to beg for mercy. It turns out that the young master of the Carter family still has some backbone. Very well, I didn't plan to stop targeting Carter Group either."

Upon hearing Ethan's words, several directors immediately became anxious. They stepped forward to flatter Ethan and persuade Alex.
